Was told to get "back-up" lights, so,,,,,,

Sturm 51, good call, gotta know the rules & regs. In PA, you MAY have a manually operated reverse light switch if the veh. did not have OEM reverse lights. It MUST have an indicator in clear view of the operator when activated (lighted switch is aceptable). Backing up without them can get...

Tripping Sensors at Left hand turn lanes?

Somewhat related, and I am COMPLETELY surprised with the Pennsyltuckey Gov't. A new law just went thru that if you are at a sensor driven light that has not changed in "reasonable" (definition unknown) time, and if safe to do so, a driver MAY proceed through the red light. caveat : as...

    New Wiper Switch, still overheating

That's why I use remans from a company I trust. Can not judge a motor by it's casing anymore. For OTC stuff, I would suggest getting the lifetime, or best, warranty. Electrical parts either quit early or last. If it quits and ya have a warranty . . . Ya just get another one. Went thru 4...

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

    Benefits of a M1078 as a firetruck.

If ya wanna brush truck, my $.02, forget the FMTV. If they wanna give ya the truck to use, make it a "troop truck" for the wildland crew. Use a "standard" cab [35, 54, 800, 900 (last 2 are overkill) series ] for yer brushbuster. LOTSA, LOTSA stuff out there for transforming them. Good Luck...

    New Wiper Switch, still overheating

Star, good call but the wire would get hot, not the motor, unless the wire is IN the motor. Have SEEN that many , many times though.

    Practicality and other questions

Door handles are expensive to replace. Keep 'em well lubed, but not TOO much, attracts dust and grime. Redneck engineering to the rescue if ya need replacements. KIDDING ! KIDDING !

So, what's the one thing you'd change?

my one thing, humbly submitted, lengthen the time to "timing out". I get why it does, but a little more would be nice. Maybe 30 minutes, if the bandwidth allows.

    New Wiper Switch, still overheating

Gonna assume NOT intermittent wipers, so, in my shop that gets a reman wiper motor every time. A SMALL spritz of lube at the pivots and transmissions won't hurt either, but doubtful would "fix" the problem radio edit : replaced the arms on my '94 with the 2nd design (j-hook ends) have not...

Source for reliable starter (or rebuild service)

Doghead,. It's def a MUCH shorter stroll for the phalanges now. We don't even bother with books for cross reference any more. Most are cell no. now and those are IMMMMMPOSSIBLE to keep track of. Only about half of our "ping" attempts are successful and subscriber info is always terrible. I...
