I have both and like the whale tail better, it feels more positive for hold when you can get that 1 extra click on it.
They both are prone to getting knocked off.
You could also figure a way to put an anti knock off pin in it.
Don't forget that the hh plunger not only goes up and down but rotates at the same time, if the plunger is gummed up and too hard to rotate from running who knows what as fuel, it will brake the rotation key (don't think that's what it's called) that fits up into the bottom of the hh and around...
So i just completed a 900 mile round trip with the deuce tractor with new head gaskets installed in between!
She has always run top notch with no fuel systems issues.
Primary filter was changed before the trip and normal fuel return splash in the tank so i don't believe any filters are clogged...

At the swapmeet I picked up these seats with adapters to fit the springer bases ($150.00)and installed them before I left on the trip back, what a big difference these seats make for comfort level!

Concerning tractor protection valve. On my deuce road tractor, I just installed the pp7 and tp3 valves, i also added a trolly brake and double check valve using all dot rated compression fittings with polly air brake line, cost of about $300.00.
