The current GM part numbers are as follows...
12472199 Upper
12472200 Lower
The hoses look identical to my original hoses including all the GM code printing on the rubber hose section but they are made in China and Mexico.
For what it's worth the aluminum pipe sections across the radiator...
Hello All,
So I picked up my new factory GM oil cooler lines yesterday from my local dealer. I was disappointed to see that one line was made in Mexico and the other China. Oh well...what can you do.
Anyway I noticed this notch on the existing oil cooler line from the block when I first...
Thanks doghead...!
You confirmed what my research has found as well....
"The rear port (slightly lower and sticking out over the oil filter mount) is out to the cooler and the return port port is the front port (slightly higher and more recessed into the block)."
From a tech....:)
When I first picked up my M1009 a few months ago the first thing I did was a white vinegar flush to the cooling system and then several rinses before I put on new hoses and a thermostat. After the flush I did notice that I wound up with some bubbly muddy orangish gunk that seemed to pool at the...
Ok...well....that is definitely backwards from the TM diagram. I don't have an oil sample petcock. My CUCV is a M1009.
My lines are fine and I have a new spare set just in case....but thanks for the input.
doghead...if you could double check yours as well that would be great...
doghead...That would be very much appreciated...!
southdave...according to the TM the top block line goes to the bottom radiator fitting and the bottom block goes to the top radiator fitting. So that would be exactly opposite of what you're suggesting although what you're saying does make...
Can someone please confirm the oil cooler lines orientation from the block all the way to the radiator?
My id markers fell off while doing some work and I need to determine which rubber line goes to the top aluminum line that goes into the radiator and which to the the bottom.
Also...which...
For those of you who have used the threaded plate on the back of the cylinder head for a water temp. sending unit location for adding a gauge....
What did you do about the metal vacuum line that runs over it?
I went to install the threaded plate with the temp gauge sending unit installed into...
I went to glue the 2 pickup magnets onto the back of the new Fluidyne damper using the supplied Loctite 330 adhesive that Isspro supplies with the tach pickup kit. Once that's done I'll install the damper and fire the beast up.
The recommended and supplied Loctite 330 adhesive was bad...
Yup...I was so pissed when I picked it up at the GM dealer I have established a good relationship with. The box said assembled in USA with parts manufactured in China....Oh well.
I was going to run a Peninsular Diesel water pump but they just kept delaying and delaying and delaying when the new...
I was finishing up, putting brackets back on the '09 today and ran into a issue with the passenger side lower alternator bracket. When I went to slide it on the studs it hit the water pump housing. Enough that it was a real issue. This was a brand new AC-Delco pump purchased at the GM dealer. I...
Special Tool for Drivers Side IP nut...
I used a special tool to get the nut back on with the intake still in place as shown below...LOL. A very high powered magnet taped to a long flat blade screwdriver. I lubed up the nut with anti-seize and used another thin blade screwdriver to thread it...
I was installing the water pump today and followed the TM to the letter. It occurred to me...after I was done and had torqued everything of course that the TM only specifies pipe sealant on 1 stud that threads into the head below the water jacket on the drivers side as well as the 4 bolts and 2...
do I get the nut back on for the driver's side stud on the injector pump?
I was only able to get it off by breaking it loose with a open end wrench and then after using a ample amount of PB Blaster...using the tip of a screwdriver to spin it off by pushing on the edge of the nut.
Once it came...
