I'm sure there will be plenty of folks there - I'm planning on getting everything packed tomorrow so I can leave as soon as the wife and daughter leave for school Thursday morning. Which way are you coming, up I-77? Maybe I'll see you along the way - if so, I'll be the one in the silver...
Is anyone doing t-shirts for this year's event? Cabel, can you add me to your list - didn't know if you got my PM or not. I'll be eating Thurs supper through lunch Sat. Thanks
I'm trying to work things out to be there Thurs and Fri and leave lunchtime Saturday. Last year I drove the RV and didn't have my Jeep done. This year it looks like I'll be doing like I did at the Georgia rally - pulling the Jeep with the Expedition and sleeping in it. I guess it all depends on...
Great idea Adam! I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it (I'm already going to have to miss the Denton rally because of scheduling conflicts), but I would say May or November should be the best weather.
MAGNUM,
The Denton rally was a pretty good one for a 1st annual last year. There were plenty of vehicles and trailers there (i forget the official count), some display vehicles, decent vendors, good food, and alot of people to get to know! Add to that the trail rides - although the terrain...
I still wish I could have bought it, but I'm glad she's got a new owner to carry on the job you started! Thanks for all the progress updates along the way. Is that Tim that bought it? Maybe he will keep us updated on his progress too - I am so envious!
Yeah, for $1,000, as long as about 85% of it is there and it isn't rusted apart, you can have a decent Jeep running and driving for decent money. If you want a show piece, I would do ALOT more research and know for sure what you are buying, because starting with a less than 85% complete...
Yeah, I got "is it a real army jeep" the other day. And a guy pulled me over and talked about the deuce he acquired while he was in Afghanistan the last time - for about 10 minutes. And "can I take a picture of it"?
Welcome Spicy - glad to meet you in GA and to see you here!
I second that - we had a pretty good time (and crowd) at the 1st annual Denton rally - there was PLENTY more room for more there. Only thing I would like to see is trails WITHOUT rocks - I know Vinny and Rick lived them, but not my...
Just got home and unloaded - washing the Jeep will come in the next few days. Great rally guys! Extra special thanks goes out to Clinto for organizing again! I am glad I got to put faces with all of the names, and getting to see some of you again. Thanks to Mike for the chow AND the cherries for...
Details Brotha' - how you gonna make it (material, end curtains, what)? Interested in making more? I found a used one (good shape) for $150 + shipping.
Not a teen (7yo), but my daughter is coming down Friday. I think Vinny has older kids. I got my screen name decal on my windshield today. I've got to go to the grocery store and bank in the morning, then load the Jeep - should be on the road before lunch for the 3 hr ride.
My daughter will love you for it! That was the highlight of the Denton rally for her and her cousin. She says she is going to play with Tinkerbell this time too.
My brother buys his chihuahua (Piggy) cloths and dresses her up - then tells everybody his wife does it!:cookoo:
Are you bringing Bayleaf with you Dan?
Don't think you're the only one - I think I'm going to spend half a day collecting all the stuff I've already claimed on here!
