Even if you could eventually register the BRDM-2 in California, why would you want to make it your daily driver? It has terrible fuel economy, is very uncomfortable to drive, has very poor visibility, etc. I suspect you stand zero chance of registering a BRDM-2 in California. As Mullaney...
If anyone needs a new connection terminal, I have several more than I needed, just PM me. Mine was severely corroded and when I purchased a new terminal strip, they came in a package of 5.
I had to wire brush all of the fuse terminals with a brass wire wheel on a Dremel tool, replace all fuses with new and coat fuses and terminals with dielectric grease to make everything work on mine. No electrical problems since. I got the fuses from Expedition Imports.
I drove several M715 and M725 trucks for several years while in the Army for thousands of miles, both on-road and off-road, while overseas. Those trucks are actually very good off-road trucks. Don't assume the transfer case lever is stuck. Every single truck I drove were difficult to get the...
I drive my A3 deuce in the snow every winter, but only when they haven't laid salt down on the road. Driving in the snow isn't that bad. What I hate is driving on ice.
One note about the PC625 battery. Fred Hayes, who ran HDT, gave instructions to trim off some of the cooling fins on the side of the PC625 battery to allow fitment of the side cover. However, there is a spacer that holds the side cover away from the battery. I purchased a new nylon spacer...
The Odyssey PC625 has 330 Amps for cranking and 220 Amps CCA. This is not a military battery. This is the battery that HDT chose to use in the M1030M1 motorcycles and is also the battery that the USMC used. My M1030M1 had a PC625 battery installed when it came from the USMC. It was...
Congratulations on your new diesel MC. The correct battery for the M1030M1 is an Odyssey PC625. Do you have a copy of the small portion of the Owners Manual that is available? I attached a copy in case you don't. Whatever you do, don't try to start the engine using the compression release as...
Was the truck running when they parked it? From those pictures, it looks like a very good prospect for a project. I would make a low-ball offer and work from there based on whether the drive train worked when parked.
Today, while moving the FLU419 to a new spot while digging a trench, I smashed my passenger-side mirror. I was on a slight muddy slope downhill to the right when the FLU started sliding sideways right into a tree, smashing the mirror. It would have been much worse except the loader hit another...
Like HDN said, you can hear and feel it lock up. From a stop, accelerate slowly and count the shifts. Interestingly, the TC sometimes locks up between 3rd and 4th on mine and sometimes waits until it's in 4th gear. It doesn't really matter when it locks up. If you can't really tell, look at...
I've seen Hummer H1 bushing kits advertised that include all of the bushings. The kits also had the NSN numbers listed for each of the bushings as well.
Look at the check valve on top of the tank. Be careful with the connections as it is easy to break the fittings. Hold the fittings with a wrench as you loosen so as to not put a lot of torque on the fitting. This is a common problem with M35A3s. Trash from the fuel tank gets caught up in the...
