All,
I have been without my Deuce for a couple years now and miss it, a whole heck of a lot! Due to a chronic (and very rare) illness, I have lost the strength in my left leg, so I can't shift or drive a standard any longer. I am looking at an M35A3, but it is a beast that I am not familiar...
I was cleaning out my shop this morning and found these (see attached) which were in the tool box of the MEP-002A trailer. What are they? I would post them in the classifieds, but don't have a clue as to what they are or what they are worth. Thanks!
I have been unable to sell my MEP-002A Gen Head, because of the shipping costs. So I am thinking of scraping it. I hate too, but has anyone scrape one of these heads? With the value of scrape copper, I would think it would bring a fair price.
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have a buyer for my generator head on the MEP-002A that I am parting out. I have searched posts and read through TM34, without any luck. I took the end of the head off and there looks like a key-way is there. I also removed all of the nuts on the end of head that attaches to the engine...
Well after parting out some of the parts of my MEP-002a and selling the old Chinese knock-off genset, I was able to put the cash together to purchase a new Yanmar Diesel Genset.. The unit was purchased from Maine Central Diesel and it has a 10hp, 3600 rpm engine and generates 6.5kw. See the...
Folks,
I have decided it makes more sense to part-out my functioning MEP-002A in an attempt to recoup some my investment. I will modify my classified ad this morning on SS and may list it on Craigs List, in NH, also. Thanks to everyone for all their help during the past year!
I am days away from jumping out of my first floor window because of this restoration project. As many of you know, I had many issues earlier this year with the genset and finally got it running. Since then, I had been pulling it out of my shop once per month and running it for about 45 minutes...
Ok guys, thought it was safe to go back into the water, but the sharks came circling again!
I started my MEP-002A this morning and after two attempts it started right up, ran normal, no smoke, steady 60hz and great power output, but I did notice the cooling shutters did not open. They move...
Thought I would post the duel spin-on fuel filter modification I did on my soon-to-be running MEP-002A.
Parts:
Wix 24309 & Napa 4309 Base $25.97
Wix 33123 Fuel Water Separator $10.11
Wix 24347 Fuel Filter $6.25

First big public thanks to Carl from NH and Speddom for all the help thus far.
I bit the bullet and had to purchase a rebuilt Model 50 IP. I was told by the shop that the rebuilt IP does not have a timing button and I should remove the button from the old IP and install it in the rebuilt...
All,
A very good friend of mine is going to sell me a nice clean 50 gallon fuel tank (take-off) from a M35a2. I would like to mount it on the M116A1 trailer, in front of the genset for an aux fuel supply. The genset came with a fuel bung adapter and about 25' of fuel line. I did a search and...
I am still working on the recon of my MEP-002a, but I am thinking ahead as far as auxiliary fuel storage. I am thinking of a 30 or 55 gallon drum setup added to my trailer. My question is... What are you folks using for auxiliary fuel storage, drums, tanks and if you are using drums, plastic or...
OK folks, after some down time, I started work today again on refurbishing my recently acquired MEP-002A. Today's tasks were to install one of the two Wix Spin-On Fuel Filter units and remove the fuel tank, to clean it.
Took about 15 minutes to install one of the two new Wix Filter units. The...
Just took delivery on a Mep-002A Genset/Trailer. With the help via PM's from a couple members, I have started the refurb. I much prefer a spin-on fuel filter setup and found a Wix 33418 fuel filter base on line for cheap money.
My question is, would it make sense to keep the OEM fuel/water...
Folks,
If you had a choice of purchasing a 802a unit (4200 hours) for $300.00 more than an 002a unit (2200 hours, would the 802a unit be a no-brainer?
Would about parts for the 802a? vs the 002a???
Thanks Guys!

I am thinking it maybe time to replace my my 8 year old 3600rpm Chinese knock- off 6K diesel generator. Other than a bad starter, it has been a pretty good unit. In Southern NH, we loose power several times per year and over the last two years have had multi-day outages. I am looking at a...
After another 5 day outage here in NH, I am now looking to upgrade my 6kw 3600rpm diesel generator to a more beefy one. Being a military vehicle junkie, I am leaning towards the MEP units. There seem to be a few local "dealers" on C/L and Ebay in Maine and NH that sell them fully tested, etc...
After an exhausting search, I believe I may have found my problem, but need confirmation. Today after sitting for a couple of days, my M1008 would not start. I was getting a "clicking" noise under the dash (starter relay???), but the starter would not turn. Tried several times and after...
