What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Replaced the fuel filter 2 days ago on +ZEUS+ and after attempting to purge air in the fuel system (loose bolt on filter canister), I finally got him going, a big difference in how he idles and runs now. So I finally installed my step mod! WOW, I can enter and exit him without crippling my...

    83 am General Truck batteries

To assist the batteries in my M931, I installed a 1500w Zerostart Block Heater, plugged him in Thursday morning for 4 hours, at 5am, - 6 degrees and at 9am it was +4 degrees and it took about 3 seconds to start! Well worth the $65.00 and it beats ether! Thanks to the fellow SS members who...

Love my M931 powertrain, but would like the A2 with the 8.3 someday, but will wait as the M931 is insured and registered / tagged as an antique vehicle.

Bobbed M931 almost done, Pics soon! A few questions please...

Thanks for some technical suspension advise. You are right, after a closer look, here are my observations... <> Yes,there are only (2) 1/2 bolts holding the two spring hangers on but I am wondering if the heavy-duty single spring which is bolted using four bolts and attached to very beefy plate...

Bobbed M931 almost done, Pics soon! A few questions please...

Keep in mind, my buddy did the suspension work, I appreciate all the comments but would appreciate some suggestions instead of alarming the bejeusus out of me. Thank you 540fordman for suggesting I cap the ends. I don't see any bolts on the hangers bolting it to the bottom of the frame rail...

Manage Attachments gone from PM and Email?

Thanks for the explanation, but if in fact one person ruined it for all than that person should have been banned. I really don't understand the world we live in, any longer. It seems everywhere you go society feels that it is politically correct to punish the masses versus singling the...

Bobbed M931 almost done, Pics soon! A few questions please...

Perches and Springs from an older 5 ton commercial dump truck. No bounce at all, and I don't plan to haul anything, especially with Antique plates/tags. In NH, that would be a big nono! The blocks are welded and secured with 10 ton rated U-bolts. Sure hope I don't get t-boned as the t-boneer...

Bobbed M931 almost done, Pics soon! A few questions please...

Here are some pics. Lots of mildew on the cab, some surface rust on the donor Deuce bed, but need warm weather to do some sanding and prep before a paint job this Spring. Some immediately tasks ahead are to install a set of mudflaps, (purchased on Amazon), trouble shoot my headlights, figure...

Manage Attachments gone from PM and Email?

I don't see the dialog box any long for attaching pictures in PM's or Emails? Has this option been eliminated? I use Chrome as a browser, but also tried in Firefox and still nothing???? I go to ADVANCED and the dialog box for Manage Attachments doesn't come up any longer.

Bobbed M931 almost done, Pics soon! A few questions please...

We are finishing up a few small details on the M931 Bob Project and I did a search to see if I could find an answer to a few questions, but was unsuccessful. My truck originally came with G177's and I swapped for buddy's Michelin 14x20 Super Singles. I have a brand new SS spare, but it won't...

Hopefully Mr. Zeus will be coming home soon! We are going to install a Zerostart Block Heater tomorrow and was wondering how many of you folks that have installed them use high temperature RTV sealant on both sides of the gasket? Pics will be forthcoming.

    Recap on "cold weather starting"

Hope to install a recently purchased Zerostart 1500 block heater in my Bobbed M931A1. Now for the dumb question...... My ac outlet is about 100' from the truck. Are there any issues with running the block heater on a 100' extension cord? I would think a 12/3 wire gauge would suffice?? Thanks!

Adding on board AC power to a 923

I would go standalone, had a PTO generator on my Kubota tractor years ago, 8kw or 10k (??) and it sure drank fuel. Two years ago messed with the a MEP unit, but ended up scrapping it and bought a real nice Yanmar 6.5kw from Central Maine Diesel, modified it with a 12 gallon external fuel tank...
