    Overcharging randomly

Check your batteries (load tested) and connections real good. Although it might be a voltage regulator, I have seen the same happen with a battery fixing to go out, undercharged, or gone.

    Homemade, cheap and effective undercoating!!

I haven't seen an acrylic balloon, not saying that there is not one out there. I have used glass balloons to fair out the sides of fibreglass boats that I built, ALOT lighter than using talc as a filler. It will also not breakdown chemically like an acrylic product would, depending on the paint...

    Homemade, cheap and effective undercoating!!

Good idea Heath, you can usually get micro-balloons at any fibreglass repair shop. I've seen then in automotive and boat repair shops or online. Make sure you use real good breathing protection as you are messing around with GLASS!

You also might want to consider replacing the clutch assy, if it is original it most likely will need to be replaced... Taking all out of the way really does give you room to play and be safe. 2cents

    refurbishing batteries

I'd like to know if this works, I was always told not to renew the acid. I was told by an old timer that the old acid and the sulphated plates were 'balanced' and that adding new acid would eat the plates out. I am really curious to see if this works! Please keep us posted!
