I replaced my 6TLs with series 31s from Sams Club. I think the truck sprang up about 2 inches on the passenger side when I took the 6TLs out...They are HEAVY!
You can always have your cow or dog make a deposit, seal said deposit in air tight container and let marinate, use the gas from the decomposition...wait, that will go boom too...Never Mind :roll:

They have worked on just about everythying you can think of.
Just finished changing the flywheel on mine and ran across the same problem. Came apart OK and would not go back in, even with a BAC! I had to take it down to the shop and scarf about an 1/8" off the outer edges on both sides. Slid right on in.
You really need to crawl under the truck and take a look to see the type of starter you have. As far as the bolt size goes, I have seen several sizes, even a hole wallowing out the rear bracket on the reduc starter and a bolt and nut slipped through. You might get lucky with matching the bolt...
