It comes with bowl to housing gasket. I ordered several packs of the other gaskets from Rock Auto to have on hand. Seems like every unit has at least one of the bolt to bowl gaskets that are shot.
Thanks everyone. I will not have a chance to work on it for a bit but will keep you updated. I do have a thermometer to set injection pumps. I have only had to adjust one unit so far. I'll check temp on exhaust manifold and try that first. I have not put any sort of load on it yet. I ran it for...
I went through a unit today that I picked up at auction a couple months ago. It is an 2010 803a with only 10 hours on it. Paperwork inside shows it was a national guard unit so it was never ran. Only repairs shown were battery charging and repair to one door they dented up so it wouldn't latch...
I've been buying Delco group 34 batteries for $60 each plus core. I talked to a local supplier and told him I needed about 20 of them in increments of 2. He gave me a really good deal valid every time I come in for 2 more.
Also, I had one miswired in the exact same way as Capeprep. Took me a couple hours to trace the wiring down and figure out what they did. Since then I've found two more with the same bad hookup. Seems to be a common mistake on someone's part!
Not real sure. It doesn't really get wet with diesel. It is more of a dust and dirt gasket. The filler neck fits down inside the tank so the metal on the filler neck shoots the fuel past where this rubber goes. It is certainly better than nothing, which is how I got one unit in recently.
I didn't use the metal band part, but the rubber on this works perfectly to connect the fuel filler neck to the tank. I've had three units that the rubber was crumbling on lately and this makes a perfect replacement in stock locally.
Just thought I'd let the group know about a fix I found today for the fuel fill rubber that seems to be rotted on some of these. A fernco fitting, 4" cast iron to 4" copper, works perfect to replace these. Probably won't find this one in the box stores, but it can be picked up at any plumbing...
I wouldn't think anything would be any newer than what was installed on a 2011 machine. As far as I know they were only produced until 2012. Anyone seen anything newer than 2012? I've only seen one unit labeled as a 12 and I've looked at several hundred newer ones at the auctions
