Thanks in advance,
Here is a M416 I just picked up recentley, 1966 Johnson Furnace, goes good behind the 1008 or the M151A2.
I think the tires are the originals believe it or not[thumbzup]
Didn't cost me nothin, the TC of both the Jeep and Bradley were found at fault, both were officers, one a Captain and the other a Lieutenant. Officers don't ever get statement of charges don't ya know;-)
I was signed for the jeep from the "Support Platoon" Platoon Sergeant, a real R. Lee Ermy...
I might add that the reason she survived as well as it did was the fact that the mud was pretty deep where the accident occured, that is also the reason the jeep is so dirty they had just dropped it off with a 5 ton wrecker after dragging it about 15 miles down the tank trail to drop it off to...
I was involved in this accident but was not the driver of either vehicle. This is what an M151A2 looks like after being run over by an M3 Bradley.:-( No one was killed in this accident believe it or not, and the jeep had 4 people in it, 2 escaped unscathed and 2 were medevac'd but without life...
Saw this truck in Branson Missouri this week, it sits right on the stip about the middle of town.It is part of a sign for a bar and if you weren't lookin you could miss it easy enough as the bushes around it have grown pretty high.It is a 1953 and looks like it served with civil defense and the...
OC stand for Observer Controller, I was one later in my career.Basically an OC acts as a trainer/umpire for military exercises, on this jeep they simply wired in a high beam light indicator like the one that goes in the dash these are in turn wired into your blackout lights.
The light is very...
Yeah Clinto she looks better than about 20 other ones I looked at over the last couple of years. Did some careful sanding on the hood and the number looks like 02EL0470, would that be enough digits? Sound right for an A2?
I guess that would make it a 1970? It also has a BUDD tag on the firewall...
That's the plan TJ, gonna drive her down to Petit Jean, no trailer queens in my fleet.I don't plan on doin any cosmetic stuff yet just get her up and runnin, lights brakes safety stuff.
Think they will get mad when I park my ugly jeep next to all the pretty jeeps?
Actually TJ the real jeep Nazis will tell you an M151 is not a real jeep as it does not have a solid axle, I don't exactly agree with that assessment:mrgreen:
This jeep means a lot to me as this is a vehicle I had a lot of wheel time on when I was a private many moons ago, you just haven't...
Here are the pics, uneventful recovery(best kind). Some body damage but underneath and floors are solid. This was an OC jeep as it has the addition of OC running lights front and rear. This one came out of Ft. Chaffee so that makes sense as they used to have the JRTC here.
I am pickin up my new M151a2 later today, should be an easy recovery.I will post a couple of pics later today, pretty jazzed about this Mutt, I have been tryin to get the owner to sell to me for the last 8 years, last week he finally relented and said come and pick her up.
She has been resting...
Wondering what some of you guys here run in your Mutts, back when I drove them in the 80's we used 10w30, and I know the Army switched to 15w40 in everything in the 90's, any suggestions for best engine oil? Thanks
Some people call it a banjo, we call ours a bajo cause we cain't afford but one string. What's that fellers plan for that 813? It is awful close to my fort, is he keepin or swappin?
