    Got my SEE

I personally wouldn't touch anything that isn't leaking or plugged up. I replaced my 10mm crossover pipe that was corroded solid with a new 10mm 316 stainless tube and some dedicated Mercedes fitting on that line and the unloader. Other than that, I haven't replaced or touched any air lines...

    Changes to NC Titling/Registration Laws

In some states the problem with MV lights involves lights for the license tag. I know some people have added battery powered magnetic lights for the tag. I don't think tag lights for MVs is much enforced in most states.

Which fittings are you wanting to switch out?

    M1078 hard shift

My M35A3 with an Allison 1545 transmission also shifted up and down hard until I switched to Dexron 3 ATF. The change made all the difference in the way the transmission shifted - much smoother.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I've seen several Stanley hydraulic chainsaws for sale on Ebay in the past. You can get the bushing for the shifter from EI and they don't cost much. I would recommend going ahead and replacing the bushing for both shifters while you are in there and the bushings don't cost much. That plastic...

Did you get the FOPS and hood for it? Any of the hydraulic tools? The last digit on the engine time is not tenths it is full hours. Have fun with the new toy!

    Valence's M116A3 Mounted MEP-803A (10kw generator)

Looks like a very nice and clean generator and trailer. Congratulations!

    Trailering a M37

I pull an XM1061E1 behind my M35A3 deuce. It is a very heavy trailer designed to be pulled by a 5-ton. However, my deuce pulls it very easily except on steep hills where I am slow. I like the trailer because you can drop the support legs and level the trailer into a stable platform if needed...

    Trailering a M37

An M1061A1 will likely work if you use ramps and don't mine some slight overhand front / back. It has 5 ton capacity and is designed to be pulled behind a 5-ton. I have one and love it.

The cut-out pressure should be 106 PSI.

    Got my SEE

Great looking FLU419. The FLU419 has air over hydraulic brakes. Without adequate air pressure, you can't stop the Unimog, even if going very slow. When I got mine, the crossover air line from the regulator/unloader to the air tank was corroded solid, hence no brakes and a lot of other stuff...

The 5-2420-224-24P-2 TM tells you what the bolts are. The size is M12, Fine thread and 40 mm long. I would use Grade 8 equivalent.

I think you made a good call. You'll find what you want for a reasonable price - just keep looking.

    Hydraulic cylinder

Have you tried EI? They have a lot of parts that are not on their website. I've found a lot of things by calling them on the phone. Great people at EI. You can also request a quote from one of the military parts suppliers. I needed a brake part years ago for a military trailer. I received...

    M35A2 Frozen Air Line

I was in the 2/36th Infantry stationed with the 1st Brigade, 3rd Armored Division at Ayers Kaserne at Kirch-Goens. The Kaserne was known as "The Rock". I was there in 1970 and 1971. We regularly went to Wildflecken, Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels for training. Wildflecken definitely had some...

    Dodge truck in Norway

That looks to me like a Dodge WC52 from WWII that has a specialized cargo bed, perhaps an ambulance or radio truck. Back in the early 70s I spent some time in Norway while in the US Army. Like M813rc said above, at that time the Norwegian military was almost exclusively ex-US military...

Newbie here looking at a 1970 M35A2 have some questions

$5K is too high in my opinion with what you described. The transfer case should not pop out of gear. It is worn and needs repair or replacement. You can buy a new front windshield, including frame, from Korea for a reasonable price. The winch obviously needs seals. However, does the winch...

    M35A2 Frozen Air Line

I spent two years in the Army stationed in Germany in the early 70s. None of the deuces or 5 tons had air dryers or alcohol evaporators. I also never heard of any air lines freezing on any vehicles and the temperature quite often went down near -20 F. in the winter where I was stationed,
