Slowly but surely getting my new m1008 on the road. Thanks to searches and great posts, looks like I need to replace my vacuum hoses and also may need to make an adjustment due to a hard shifting problem.
Does anyone have the sizes for the vacuum lines? A search and TM review did not yield...
My private party purchase of my first CUCV (M1008) arrived from Rhode Island this afternoon. It is an extremely straight, rust-free (2 minor rust issues), dent-free Air Force (???) truck which replaces my M35A2. The CUCV appears to have been maintained extremely well by it's first civy owner...
$115.00 for a 24v alternator, grab it then! When I had to replace or rebuild, I could not find a 24v for less than $200.00 at local parts shops, but 12v Delco's sell for much less. Plus the time to fab a bracket, just wasn't the way to go for me. But seeing lots on Ebay for under $100.00...
Feel free to give me a call or email, just pm me. My buddy Phil did mine and it is a great job. Feel free to check my website for more pics at Welcome to NeatStuff2Sell.com

Has anyone had ill-effects from the...
Yes, get it rebuilt, as it is probably the regulator. Some auto parts stores provide this service or find a good auto-electrical shop in your area. Mine was a toasted alternator and was $180.00 for the rebuild job. If you can find a new old stock (NOS) alternator, plan on paying at least...
Had 2 M37's and much prefer the M35 (shortened) now! When I get out I drive Brutus everywhere!
You will need highway gearing and a 5 speed transmission to do your once per month commute and while you are at it re-power it to a cummings diesel. So if you are going to do any kind of serious...
