    Going through auction 803a

That's actually not a bad idea! Big box store near me stocks them as well and a little cheaper than Northern tool with shipping. Couple of the small ones with some halogen lights should create plenty of load. And it would warm the shop up in the meantime! Woodburner takes awhile to heat it on...

Pretty fancy! You could probably sell those.

    Going through auction 803a

I do have an oven coming in a month or so but wanting to load test this before it gets to the nasty January cold. I have empty barrels and water heating elements, so that is why I was thinking of doing it that way. The plus side to a drum is I can pick it up and store it in the rafters out of...

    Going through auction 803a

I'm thinking a cheap load bank would be a couple hot water heating elements in a 55 gallon drum with the top cut off. Anyone done this for testing purposes? I'd run them through a 2 pole switch to be able to turn each off and on and that would let me check amperage with a meter while it is...

    Waterlogged 803a

I suspect the reason the 813s are going as high as they are is just that. Some people are in for a surprise! I just hope they figure it out before they hook up to a building! I found genuine gasket sets...to the tune of $500. That's another reason I am looking for a runner. The next auction...

Anyone close to the Adelman's in Chicago that could check this out?

Not looking to stir up trouble between members here. Daybreak I didn't realize you sold stuff. I thought maybe you were in the market for an engine.

    Waterlogged 803a

If they were doing this out of the plant that is close to me you bet I'd be doing that. All the tear down seems to occur in Chicago on gensets, at least according to what they told me on the phone. That is a 8 hour drive for me. I really wish they were ripping these down at the location a half...

    Waterlogged 803a

There are Federal laws in place to protect the consumer. If you wanted a reman DN2M for the $450 they would have to give you one. The Chicago and Canton branches have different prices on things. That printed ad is out of Chicago. And since that ad specifically says reman for $450 they have to...

    Going through auction 803a

Well today I went ahead and did the ultimate well nut repair to both well nuts. If I'm going to depend on this thing I'd like to know everything that could go wrong has been taken care of. I put aluminum screen inside the 3 mesh areas to hopefully help keep critters and bugs out once it is in...

    Waterlogged 803a

I would guess that it's just a reman and you supply the starter and accessories. Even without accessories $450 is still a pretty good price. I priced rebuilding the 4 cylinder and the gasket set was more than that. I've bought stuff from them before from the Canton location and everything was...

I was going to say check post #8. That is only at their Chicago location too. I'm very close to the Ohio location and they said $895 for the same thing.

No doubt! And the 2 cylinders were remans at only $450. Almost makes me want to look for an 802 with a bad engine!

    Waterlogged 803a

Adelman's wants $1300 for engines!! The picture they sent me was of one wet stacked badly too. I think I'll look at the next auction for him. I could probably get a complete unit for that price almost!

    Waterlogged 803a

Nobody answering phones at Adelman's today. Guess they are still closed. The machine shop I use said find a runner instead of rebuilding that one for sure.

    Waterlogged 803a

Guy this is exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find anywhere! You just can't beat years of hands on experience. I've pulled plenty of engines out of vehicles and equipment so it doesn't worry me, but this will make it easier. Looking at it I think I would have removed the front and...

    Waterlogged 803a

Half the sheet metal is already off it to get a good look at it. One side was caved in so he was taking it apart to fix that already when I found the water in the crankcase. It doesn't look that bad to take out. I've read the TM and looked it over and should be pretty easy compared to working on...

    Waterlogged 803a

Great! I looked for that online and couldn't find it. I will call them when they open up after the holidays for sure. If they have one reasonable it will be easier to switch it out than repair the other. I found a drain date of 3/13 on it. That means it might have been taking water for 4 years...

And the thermostat still glued on the fuel pump. I unplugged it, but left it there for fear of damaging the pump trying to get it off. Doesn't hurt anything either way though.

This ins't on my unit. I looked everywhere for something like this. It would have made it a little easier!
