Much of your weight comes with the floor. Those oak floors have to be extra tough to carry the loads that they do. My guess is that 2/3 of the weight came off when you removed the floor.
Except that the OP is not talking about drilling rivets. He already torched them off. The discussion is about drilling the new holes for the spring brackets. [thumbzup]
Yes, that was the original question, but since it's been brought up, I'm having a helluva time getting any rivet to budge...
Some people have all the luck! Congrats on your new drill.....Wanna make a quick hundred bucks?[thumbzup]
I think I've finally come up with the rental drill and the bits and pilots I'll need to do this, but it wasn't easy. The folks who rent these down here don't seem to know anything about...
Second place not much help either, except that the tool I'd be renting was a milwaukee 4210-1. I've even looked up a few manuals and they all assume a certain amount of knowledge going in. Checked Amazon and they don't sell a Magnetic Drills for Dummies either.
I want to thank all again for...
I found a place locally where I can rent a magnetic drill, but the guy wasn't as knowledgable as I hoped. He didn't know what an annular bit was, and said that the drill they had had a 3/4" chuck. The question I have now is: Are there two kinds of chucks, one for annular and another for regular...
After 2 months of fire bans I finally got 'round to torching the rivets on one side of the deuce, sort of my "NO GOING BACK!" point. Woo hoo! In researching the process, I came upon mention of the magnetic drill. I thought I had nearly every generalized power tool but, this was a new one to me...
No offense taken. My son (Badga the Badger) has warned me about wreckerman893's deep love of all things Possum! It was just funny that as I wrote my first remark the possum thing came up. My timing's always been perfect that way.....
Those are really cool, but don't let the artistry of these trucks stop you from adding a sleeper. I had an ambulance chassis that I added a 5 foot stand-up Freightliner sleeper to. Four bolts with rubber spacers mounted mine to the truck. It was great that the interior was all finished and I had...
Thanks,
I've had this bookmarked for a while and have been keeping an eye on it.
As for that XM 381 site, I did a Happy Dance :jumpin: when I saw that 'cause I knew then I'd have no trouble keeping my truck registered as a Former Military Vehicle down here in Texas. I'm thinking up all the...
Hi,
Many know my son Badga the Badger, MV crazed 15 Y.O. and partner in my M35A2. We had an M109 box on it for a while, but changed our mind to bob the deuce. It's an '85 AMG, depot rebuilt in '95, and came with a hardtop, Michelin super singles (1100-R20) and air steering. The box is off, the...
