Thanks, Everyone! I'll see if I can get the piece from my original source, then I'll try others. I'd feel much better about having the original peice in place.
The only problem is there is a bolt head coming out from the bottom of the spring that has to be allowed for. The top bracket has a hole allowing for clearance of the other end of this bolt (which holds the spring pack together).
I did search for this but found no specific answer. I even had to draw a picture 'cause I forgot my camera today! Problem is that my front spring set did not come with the plates that sit between the axle and the springs themselves. I thought about lift blocks going in this spot and can't find...
We started with the holes being drilled through the side of the frame, with the clamps holding the mounts and springs in place. We bolted the mounts to the frame, and swung an end of the leaf spring down, one at a time, then drilled the holes for the bottom bolts. Tearing down the springs was...
Check out the bus to rv conversion sites. One site is schoolie.net.
Skoolie.net • Index page .
I had four buses (3 schoolies, one transit) converted, and these guys will have all kinds of ideas for doing the job. You'll find out there's all kinds of inside places to tuck that water tank.
They're all chocked, the front axle is engaged, and the parking brake is on. Not counting on that brake too much though. That very heavy pipe rack it's sitting on is sunk in as well. Once the axle goes under the frame this week end, another pipe rack will go under the rear of the frame as well...
I'm actually mounting my bed about 10" farther back on the frame than normal, and using the space for a rack for large ammo cans, maybe for a spare too. Since I had the big delay, i need to get it done and out of my friend's yard. Moving it back simplifies the front hanger placement by not...
Let's try those pics again!
Video too! Listen carefully, the Mrs. timed the background audio perfectly, albeit accidentally.

Four months later and we're back with a vengeance! Due to record heat and a bad elbow almost nothing's happened during that time, but me and Badga got the rear springs mounted this weekend. We also discovered how versatile and necessary a Harbor Freight crane can be, particularly when every tool...
Texas heat has finally broken and me and Badga have gotten a HUGE amount of work done (at least for us) in the last two days, but now we need a bit of SS knowledge. Just found out I have Badga for an extra day tomorrow so have to throw a work schedule together real quick.
We have the deuce...
A lot of the original guntrucks from Vietnam had the exhaust exit down and out to the side, just behind the front right wheel. I did this for a while on P-R, but had to make it stock again when the engine started smoking badly.
At this point I'da told the MF to GTFO my property. It takes a lot of nerve for someone to come over and drink your beer and shoot his mouth off like that.
Believe it or not, I'm not ALL about getting along and compromising. Sounds like this whole thing came pre-escalated. I just try to get...
I know someone ( a pro) who manages to use the original drive shaft even with m105 beds. I chose to make mine 10" behind the front axle spot using an m105 bed, filling the empty space with a rack for the very large ammo cans for lockable storage. Then I'll be getting the driveshaft lengthened.
Does anyone have the templates for cutting out the floor mats for the M35A2? Maybe a pic with some yard sticks for scale. I've never been good at this, and as I've gotten older (and fatter) it's really hard to get into these tight places. I'd like to cut them out right, put 'em in and be done...
Get a game camera and get the goods on the dog, then take it over to the animal control folks. You have been a good and reasonable neighbor trying to work it out. Now's the time to "bring appropriate pressure to bear".
BTW, did the neighbor have any specific objections to the trucks? Usually...
I was just at the wrong end of that deal, having guaranteed the batteries. After that it became a discretionary thing as to replacing the battery. No telling what they do to those things sometimes! Now they pretty much go to solar projects where this kind of thing isn't a problem, but I do run a...
It will even toast deep cycles. Learned this 15 years ago when I replaced this guy's AGM batteries several times that he bought from me. Come to figure out he was welding with them. You just can't put this kind of short into batteries without toasting them in very short order.
I agree with this part. Mine isn't finished yet, but I am going with the front spring setup. They're getting a little harder to find since a deuce has to be permanently put out of commission, and the folks that have the parts are making bobbers themselves to resell. I'm not even gonna' admit to...
