OK, got the brake line problem solved (hired a mechanic I knew), but now we have a new problem. The brakes will not pump up. It's been bled 3-4 times per wheel, the air built up, 33 ounces of DOT 5 put in the system. There are no leaks that can be seen. My help did speak with my local deuce...
Inland first told me over the phone that it'd be about $300. Was very pleased that the quote was $191.50, and they charged me within a few cents of that. Guess it really depends on who's on duty at the time. I've always been real good about bitching when they try not to follow through. Good job...
Get it done professionally. I just had mine extended by 13", balanced, and primed for $191.50. Was done by Inland Truck Parts which I think is national. Nice guys, too.
My bob was made longer, maybe 10". I found that when I went to mount the rear member (with the pintle), the diagonal supports interfered with the rear spring mount bolts. Ended up that I had to go with the frame being a couple of inches longer, and the bed not being able to swing down, but I did...
We'e almost finished with our Bob, but I've had to replace thwe hydraulic brake line that runs along the left side of the frame. When bloting this to the tee fitting just under the rear of the cab (left side) I tried to remove one of the other brake lines. I did use the special wrenches for the...
Uhh....the whole "historic accuracy" thing was tongue in cheek. He just didn't like the smoke, which gradually was getting worse. Just saying that at ground level, the exhaust can get you in trouble.
The only time I ever got a tickeet was in Psychotic Reaction when I routed the exhaust out the wheel well (gun truck style) and a cop on a bike too GREAT exception to historical accuracy. Had to put it back to stock or pay the ticket again and again. Nice looking job though, just watch out for...
I thought that this was the Bobbed Deuce Forum!
Yes, this is a bobber project. I decided on running the lines behind the axle so they wouldn't get hit by on/off road debris. I did, however, use the rear axle for the truck, not having thought it out that far ahead. I did remove the lines from...
How did you guys do it? (Yes, I did search!) Wrote a more detailed post and lost it. AAARRRGGGHHH!!! SHould the brake lines go in front of or behind the axle?
BTW, it hit the ground on all fours today! (The truck. Get your mind outta' the gutter, there's only so much room down here!)
I started my truck yesterday for the first time in six months, and the batteries had not been given a maintenance charge of any kind during that time. Took about 15-20 seconds of cranking and it started right up. Turned the engine over like starting a Toyota. [thumbzup]
What a bunch of wiseacres! I am to this very point now. When I took all the fittings off at my house, I put a double bend in the air lines so they'd hold long enough to get it to my friends house for the real work. Never really looked at what kind of fitting connected the air lines to the glad...
Can a deuce be driven as a front wheel drive? My bob will be ready to move this week but does not have a rear drive shaft yet. I'm sure I can move it around the yard, but what would be limitations on distance, if any? I had my first EUC on an M105 come through a lot quicker than anticipated, and...
How about this one for an unusual bob? This was done by my friend and parts supplier Lynn at militarytrucks.com , down in the Austin TX area. It's being built for an exotic animal park. I'll get some more pics when he's done with it. Cool, huh? Don't think it's street legal though.....
Good news...I got the parts from the same guy I got the springs from over 6 months ago-no charge. He's always been a great guy to deal with. I just had to know that I had some options yesterday so that I wouldn't stay up all night worrying about it. Thanks for your help, all.:jumpin:
I'm going...
I bought one of the removable center seats for a nice p/u truck. I'll set up some blind nuts in the bed, facing backward, install a seatbelt, then sit the Badga back there. I lucked out and bought a nice one for five bucks at a garage sale. Another option is using a minivan seat. I can't...
