The hmmwv is rated for 4,500 lbs IF you have the A2 bumper and the bumper reinforcement kit. If you don’t it’s 3,400 lbs.
You are barking up the wrong tree trying to tow heavy with a hmmwv.

Well the last week has been a bit of an exercise in futility.
I had an air leak that out of ignorance though was being generated by my tractor protection valve. After reading everything I could about it I ordered a new one as well as a rebuild kit.
The day came and I swapped the TPV and not...
I have a feeling it will look like blue plate inside. My plans are to replace it the parts to rebuild are almost he same price as a new unit. Going to try to limp along until then.

Well progress was made today.
I got the ragged out top off and the troop seats out.
I removed the birds nest from behind the passenger headlight.
Speaking of headlights. I put a pair of speakers in
I got the higher pressure sensor added for the CTIS.
Lastly I got the batteries...

And cleaned up the air filter. To bad it’s such a small thing...

I put a new o-ring in the latching mechanism and it worked well enough to raise the cab.
The old o-ring was jacked and the spring was pitted...
And so it begins.
Meet Max. My 3 year old cane up with that a little while ago.
He is a 1994 model. It’s still early in the game but I have a feeling there are quite a few issues that will need to be dealt with.
My short term plan is to get all of the systems checked and all of the PM’s...
After spending last weekend camping out of my hmmwv I came to the conclusion that I need some better interior storage. I have all my recovery equipment in one of the rear under seat storage compartments and the other had my first aid kit and other small stuff I use often. Most of the time I...
I will have a few things I am bringing.
1. Hmmwv mike market hydraulic rear winch with bumper. It will include the long hydraulic hoses and controls solenoids. $900
1 Hmmwv gas tank with instal kit. $75
M998 A-1 with 242 transfer case and 10k axles. 6.2 with 3 speed. X-doors, jack...
