can't remember the artists name, but we got the idea for the pose from another pinup. We had to clean it up so it was PG and did some updating to give her a mid-60's look- hair mostly, clothing etc., then did our best to transfer it to the panel. We knew the cards with the 2 and 5 would be...
So what do you think guys, did I get a good deal? I've got my Motor-T mechs checking it over right now on base to see what it needs so I can start shopping.
shoot yeah!!! $1825 for a truck with no motor is a good deal, let alone a solid runner [thumbzup] All that stuff missing is easy to...
I can get wheels done for $10 each, which I consider quite reasonable.
no kidding? :freaked: Man, I've been getting the wrong quotes or something. I remember I got quoted about $200 to do four 15" wheels and a small (t-bucket) frame with just four tubes. Went with Krylon instead
thanks- My bro and I were just brainstorming on names, you gotta have a name for the pinup which will also double as the name of the truck. We didn't want it to be as obvious as "Deuce's Wild" and such, so we came up with the PERFECT name, which also describes essentially what we are doing...

that's very interesting, Bjorn, thanks. Did the Army revise their SOP's- I notice it says to warm it up "for about a minute". The MF operator's manual clearly states 5-10 minutes. No way I'd start off after a minute!!!! :nono:
hey all, I got this problem (well, maybe not a problem), but I've noticed now that I took the rear rear axle out again after the snow subsided that it felt like my clutch was slipping. Everytime I'd start (in second), espeically while turning, like off a sidestreet, the truck has a no-go...
WELLL..... actually only 2.5 tons are deuce and a halfs [^] 5 tons are a whole new beast- nice trucks, but generally considerably more expensive, heavier (but also with more power and power steering), and you will need a commercial driver's license to drive it because of the gross vehicle...
ughhh.... just checked mine (I know, I kow, I need to have my deuce driving priveleges REVOKED for not checking my fluid, but it's always been good on the brakes)
and I got that dang vent line. Could they make these things any harder to check? I think I'm going to rig up something like...
yeah, the weather here was OK- overcast and 50, but then the wind picked up yesterday, BAD. We just popped the air intake cover off and brought it inside, gotta love the simplicity of these trucks.
luckily all my work is leisure work, not something I need to get done. I always hate that, cause...
If not a bolt-in, it should fit in there with little modification. The t-case is divorced. Just make sure it's built for torque- no tunnel ram manifolds here hehehehe
there is a special head bolt removal tool, and I wish now I got it when I saw it on eBay. Ran $25.
Should be simple enough to make, if I'm not mistaken it's like a crow's foot, you just take a wrench and heat and bend it into a U shape?
Powder coating would be sweet, bulletproof, and super...
let's see: finished welding on the muffler to get rid of those annoying soot marks in the seams, painted the rear axle and springs, installed a chain to the steering wheel (there's a really convenient hole in the passenger seat frame with a reinforcement already welded to it that I bolted the...
Ain't that the truth. I just haven't ever been able to come to the rescue unless I'm helping somebody move!!!!! Jeez, must have saved my friends, like, $100,000 in moving van expenses hehehehe
