Re: RE: Some Gun Truck Pics
Just because someone dislikes the president, does NOT mean they don't support the troops! Completely, completely, completely, two different things! I have yet to ever see any sticker that says "I don't support the troops".
nate_o23, thanks for the pictures...
You don't titrate? How do you know if you have added enough NaOH, or added too much? How much lye per liter do you add? Are you using 22% methanol...more, less? Does it pass the 3/27 test?
I am all for a pre-lube system, however, I just want to comment on the post quoted above...
I believe Bjorn's 8 seconds of time-til-pressure is due to his engine failure. He is, unfortunately, having some bearing failure. His lower pressure readings will be expected. Once he gets his lower...
If you go the remote filter route, you could use the same filter bases that I used. They are 1.5"-12. The Wix 51970XD/51970EX Filters fit. I am using dual 51970XD filters.
Did they know the empty weight? They were working with me (somewhat uneasy tho), until they asked me about the curb weight. Geico said they won't insure anything weighing over 10k.
Here, the local landfill will take paint at their "Hazardous Household Wastes" area. They don't charge. They ask to leave the labels on (if still there) and to not mix up different chemicals into a single container.
I like it. How strong do you think that lock is? Is it strong enough to resist someone (like me) pulling on the door forgetting that it was locked?
That filter costs ~$50....But still should be replaced.
Cranetruck, that's a great idea with the rope. Sorry to hear about your fuel mix. This is pushing me to bypass my FDC too.
A bypass filter would be great to have with a good full flow filtering. You have to remove that 20-5 range of particles with good full flow filters, then let the bypass filter remove the smaller remaining particles. The stock filters do a poor job of removing the 20-5 range of particles...
I am glad that more and more filtering solutions are coming to light. Before I installed remote filters, my gut would hurt waiting for the oil pressure to build @ every start.
