I added a Muffler, in Disguise!!

My muffler is the same as the first post of this thread [Donaldson m070028] The heat shield and this muffler will not fit together, if you read post #8 the Op chopped and fab his heat shield to fit. Short of saying there isn't a better muffler to put there, I'll just say there's not much room...

I added a Muffler, in Disguise!!

By function I think its the largest (and maybe quietest) muffler you can fit in place of the heat shield, but its not the quietest muffler out there. For me, and I have a loud C turbo, I can drive it around town comfortably without hearing protection but when I go for any length of distance on...

    M35A2 Insurance question

aua That makes no sense to me given the number of members here with State Farm insurance. My only other suggestion is to just have your deuce trucked up here on a flat bed while you get the insurance thing worked out. Yeah it'll cost more $$$ but you'll have peace of mind and there's...

My observations with 50wt in tranny

I'm not the most experienced gear finder by any stretch of the imagination, but on one approach to my driveway I'm going up a hill and I have to downshift from 4th-to-3rd-to-2nd. I'm using an All Mineral GL-1 Ford Tractor Transmission Oil from Tractor Supply and haven't missed or come out of...

    M35A2 Insurance question

Z - I called my Scarborough State Farm insurance agent this morning, my truck was underwritten as a commercial policy but I register it as an antique. She (the agent) does not think there's an age limit associated with State Farm Commercial Policies and suggested an agent in Orono to call, I'll...

    Rockwell Airshift Xfercase Production Years

Anyone know approximately when or if Rockwell stopped producing new air shift T-136-27s? I've seen one advertised as "built in 2006" and "not a rebuild". Were they really still making them new into the 2000s?

    Hobart Welder Quality?

I don't have any experience with Hobarts but that's what brand of wire and tips my Miller 211 uses. It hurt a little $$ to purchase the 211 but I like the versatility of being able to use 110 and 220. That said, however, I move my 211 between my concrete basement and detached garage and wish...

    Presenting WANDA! (M109 Camper Build)

Nice work! Thanks for the pics of the interior panel tear down, that's on my to-do list for mine in the near future. I like your use of the rigid foam!

What would you do for a Deuce

On a training flight/jump in the late 60s a friend of mine witnessed a C-130 rear door malfunction and drop open unexpectedly. One poor guy was sitting on the "honey pot" and was sucked right out into the atmosphere! Luckily the guy was wearing his chutes and was able to activate his reserve...

    Check your brake fluid!

I checked under the cap of the surge brake reservoir on my M101A2 the other day and there was an ice cube floating in it. Seems a little moisture got in there...kinda neat to see the H2O molecules attracting and clinging together to form an ice berg in a sea of polydimethylsiloxane.

    M35 manufacturers

I'd just keep in mind there's some overlap there. Ie, Kaiser-Jeep bought the Studebaker plant and filled those military contracts, and AM General was spun off from that after AMC purchased Kaiser-Jeep.

    Trip Preparation

I believe the deuce will be going 450 miles one-way: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/transportation-needs/80073-m35a2-new-york-maine.html I may be able to lend some assistance on the Maine stretch. Please keep the site updated with your progress if you can. God Speed!

    Anti-freeze in the passenger compartment

I would love to have this problem. I have most of the parts to install a heater under my dash and just haven't got there yet, and well, now its January in Maine. (admittedly a mild winter so far) Can you post of some pics? I'd like to see how the A3 heater is mounted and where the air...

    Deuce noses...

Picture of my electric horn (circled) which was not wired up when I got the truck. (also came with an air horn) Presently I have the electric horn hooked up to the steering wheel button and am going to add a pull cord valve so I can operate the air horn separately like an old trucker.

    Sprag modification to Manuel Lock-In

The internal differences between sprag and airshift transfer cases are more than meets the eye. Changing the linkages to a manual lever will not change how the sprag clutch works.

    M35A2, New York to Maine?

I might be willing to entertain getting it to Maine from the Worcester/Boston area if someone wants to take it that far. My wife is constantly driving back and forth to Mass and can give me a lift.
