Check for: Fuse, pump itself broken inside, rubber hose from bottom of pump to outlet...

When you slammed the door shut, you might have wiggled something back together. Might want to take a set of wrenches and start hitting every bolts you can find...I'd start with grounds first...Good Luck!

Try asking your dealer parts guys or one of the better body shops in town where they get their parts for the 80's chevy.
Beware of LMC and the others, you WILL spend umpteen hours more aligning them puppies up!
Wash it well to get the oil/grime off, dry, use muriatic acid to etch, dry, apply zinc chromate primer, dry, apply your choice of primer that is compatable to the paint you are going to use, and paint.
That is what we do when painting any aluminum part used in the marine industry, works really...

Place both starters side by side to see if they are different, chances are you got the newer style gear reduction one (smaller motor diameter). The following will get you headed in the right direction.
