    Lam Son 719--Living & Transporting

Not to detract from Driver523's posting but I have to say that I was fortunate enough to have Driver523 visit me last weekend. I fully enjoyed his visit and he was able to kick some tires on an M37 and a few Deuces. Keep up the informational posting Larry! Best regards, Ted

319, you did not tell me you bought the M60! Nice truck and I wish you success in getting it started! Funny story, after you left...I did not buy anything there and I still ended up with another truck! I'm still scratching my head on that one!

    Air ride HMMWV

I have the heavys on my M1037 and the lighter ones on an M998. Currently they both weight similar since they are both soft tops and empty. The M998 rides much nicer then the M1037. However, the M998 does not ride like an M151A2 (I had one them as well) so perhaps air suspension might be...

    Air ride HMMWV

What springs do you have in the rear for there is several different types. If you are running heavys, then the hmmwv without load will ride like a dump truck.

    1941 GP Ford Jeep ??????

Series 1 GP's are stamp on top of the left frame rail, just above the front axel. Easy to find but the stampings are light and hard to see. It should be: star xxxx star Serie 2 GP's are stamp on top of the right frame rail, just above the front axel. Harder to find since the 6 volt...

NSN for 100 Amp Alt.? - EOM

60-100-200 amp military generators that I have, all have 7.25" spread between the mounting tabs. Even the 100 amp 4 groove pulley unit (M37, M151, etc) has this same spread. The military "generator alt current 100amp unit" (that is how it is marked) I have has a 4" spread between the mounting...

NSN for 100 Amp Alt.? - EOM

I can check tomorrow night the bolt patterns since I have 60-100-200 systems here. I also have a big alternator looking unit that might be what gimpyrob has.

NSN for 100 Amp Alt.? - EOM

100 amps is great to have for what opie65 stated, plus it has a built in 12vdc output which help the first battery plus allow for 12vdc aux equipment. For the hmmwv with the 4sp (4L80E), the transmission control module is 12vdc. The question should really be: Why would want a 200 amp unit?!"...

    mirrors

Are you thinking about something like these? I have these on a tub I have for sale in the classifieds. On the passenger side, it mount to the mg clamp so it is a little lower but effective. As far a visability, I am sure they vibrate but not as bad the old one arm setup on hmmwv's.

    HMMWV A2 Project

George, I found that the side rails with cross bows attach are over 2" to high at the rear/c-pillar. I will have to make some blocks to insert in the bow ends to extend them. This may cause the soft top to be to narrow and correctly fasten. I will be mocking something up once I have time...

    HMMWV A2 Project

Hi George, We (me, JG, RV), looked over the options with my new 4 man soft top and found that the b-pillar area would be an easy bracket to build and weld on. I will look into the a-pillar brackets that you mentioned. On the c-pillar, I would install the twist fastners (like on the soft top...
