HI Jay,
Yep, they got that too! The bottom lip was not a lip anymore and a nice hit in the middle and both rubber bumpers missing. It is an operating tailgate so I will just put the lip back in it and clean up some of the dents. Also, both tail lights were gone (destroyed not removed).
Can...
This poor truck was molested heavily by a gl fork truck. Winch roller broken, left front boot and retainer destroyed, bed frame hit, rear air ports eliminated, and then the cargo and top were damaged from motor freight wind! I have already replaced both doors, cleaned up the winch with new...
I received my M813A1 a little while ago from a fellow SS member and it was on "deck" for bringing it up to operation while I was finishing my hmmwv project. I have now started to turn wrenches on this truck and I started with the big banged up bumper. I have tried to find a replacement bumper...
Another Michigander! Welcome. I HAD all the parts you needed till about a 2 months ago, bummer. Have fun and when you need a turbo'd w/winch deuce, let me know!
regards,
Thanks guys! I love the smell of fresh CARC in the morning!
BTW: 4.5 gallons of CARC (under carraige, inside bed and outside). Spray time with two professionals in a paint booth was almost 4 hours of non-stop painting!!!! The painter said while painting it: "When is this thing going to be...
Follow up:
This 1975 M35A2C "Desert Deuce" got to be front and center during the month of June! She is a return from the sandbox so I felt she needed special treatment: new shoes, full pm, sanding and a new Green 383 CARC painting! (the Iragi sun bleached out the CARC) Only thing left is to...
85-m1028, Thanks. The military transmission control module (12vdc only) is on epay or g503 once in awhile as well as the harness. I don't know about the civi wire harnesses, sorry. I have many other vehicles to take on trails of Michigan so this will be a road truck for some of my...
Thanks everyone. It was a challenging project. Now with this one done and one of my others sold (Thanks Ron), I now have floor space available in my shop for my M813A1 project!!!
Done!
After almost 2 years of turning wrenches, here is the final product! What a joy to drive. It is the fastest and most quiet of all hmmwv's I have had. We actually past cars on the interstate going up hill! Think Sammy Hager's "I can't drive....55"! If I am fortunate, I will drive it...
Recovry4x4,
ZAK or Bill can use my medium tow to move it if need be (I am done with it for another month!). I am about 1.5 hours from Bill. pm me if intersted in borrowing it.
Well my M38A1 runs 160-180. If it was mine I would drain coolant, check t'stat for correct install, disconnect the radiator hoses and reverse flush the radiator to see what crud comes out. If it is cruddy, then take it to a shop to have cleaned or recored. Prior to installing clean rad, flush...
I get the same script response with my xv6800 smart phone (Windows Mobil 6.1) but not on any of my pc's. For me, I think it started when the GL ads started up again.
I know that truck, it came out of southwest MI. It has a bent boom and need some bed work done (missing panels, etc). It was parked for years and brakes were down. Congrats on the new owner!
Flames! just kidding lol
The top grill has been removed and is to be painted carc black. The front bumper/winch plate is to be painted carc black as well. In the picture above, they had to redo part of the snout since the hood brackets were in the way. Easy repaint and it should all be done...
The truck is sprayed and it looks sweet! Nothing like fresh CARC before the small scratches go on! It was just being untaped when I arrived and they are to do some touch up today. Then tomorrow the other parts get painted.
This weekend I will be prepping one of my deuces for a fresh coat as...
