I would be interested in working a trade with someone that has a military lowboy or step deck. This particular trailer is nice but it will take some big ramps to drive my hmmwv up on to it!
Paul,
The plate is an NOS unit, the other goodies are used take-offs. I strongly suggest that the plate be installed if the M66 is to be used. After I installed the plate and then set the turret, I notice that I had to readjust the doors a little!
Rivets: steel, 3/16" x .5" or so. I used...
Thanks Paul and others for the comps.
Here are some pictures of the reinforcement plate prior to pop riveting in and the setting of the M66 turret. My bobcat was able to reach the top with 1" to spare. Strapping required! Also prior to primering, I remembered to take a picture post...
800 series control box
I recently rebuilt one of my control boxes and thought I would pass this information along.
The silver can relay is Stancor 70-903 and can be purchased for around $20 at Allied Electronics.
The black plastic relay is AMTEK SAZ4401 and are becoming harder to find. Since...
I received another big toy and then attached my M118A1. I know the trailer is for a 2.5ton but the price was right and I can build ramps to haul my hmmwv...not in time for Clare though.
Well I thought I would post up a fresh picture of the M813A1 after being sandblasted, primered and painted CARC383 one part. Next is tires and dressings!
5.5 gallons of paint for the entire truck inside and out!
Since this has not been posted yet, I thought I would remind the SS family of this great MI event!

I was with Chuck and he took a lot of pictures, so hopefully he'll post up. I had my freshly restored hmmwv there and we had a good time. Some nice gun trucks (Wild Thing, Mince Meat) from Indiana were there.
Nice Bob! Google some of thier names, maybe you'll find them. My deuce return from Iraq and the passenger door, inside, was signed by Samekia or Lamekia or Lamechia or who knows? Can't make it out makes me wonder why it was signed! lol
I agree with the throttle lock. It can really hang up a peddle! Other than that, make sure everything is secure correctly (including throttle lock bracket where it attaches to the steering column bolts at fire wall) and the peddle assembly through the fire wall is in serviceable condition.
Yes, just because you hear the air solenoid does not mean it is actually working. The piston can seize/stick. If it has been sitting, take that apart, clean and reassemble.
From a friend on site helping "Pickin up duces for bill. Its a cluster **** cus the lot# and the Id# don't match on a lot of trucks". Can you image how hot customers are when they find out they got junk or didn't get the winch truck they were dreaming of! Someone at GL knew of this and they...
