    Identify This Alternator?

I'd keep it. It's pretty and the pulley has 3 grooves. Unless you want to go to a bigger one like 300 amps.

Electronics help with ipod listen on vic-1 intercom

You can try the circuit. It looks like it provides voltage gain. It appears as though it would. R1 should be changed to 32 ohms and R2 to 76 ohms. Use the standard values of 33 ohms and 75 ohms. For an ipod, R1 need be only a common 1/2 watt or 1/4 watt size. An issue might arise because the...

    H-161 Head Sets not working

I think it means the headset should work!! What exactly is wrong with it? The measurements are not exact, 2x is OK, If you can hear clicking, you should/would hear sound when the thing is in at least one of the positions.. Bjorn, would you give an opinion on this? I don't see why it's not...

    H-161 Head Sets not working

If wiggling/pushing on/ the bailout does not reveal itmto be a problem, you can check the headset electrically. I have not had any headset issues. mine are all "E" types. I've never taken one apart.. but you should be able to use an ohm meter to check. I do not know which connector is which...

Have you ever had your tank dipped?

I had my tank dipped. or rather the 5 gallon jerry can. The neighbors thought they'd "borrow" some gas from me at night to top off their tank and went on a trip to Waco or some such. I-35 is close by, about a mile away, so I'm sure they jumped on and roared down the road at 70MPH, disco/rap...

Ham radios and this hobby, any military radios work for that?

That is interesting. Several technically-minded mormons I know are interested in preparedness on advice of the Church. It's a good thing. Anyway, if you are going to put the radio in the truck, I'd recommend the RT-524 or RT-246. Both have 8 or 35 watts by switch selection. Someone had in the...

    Engine shut down while driving

Carnage!! Pls. mount some small video cameras with microphones and lights inside the engine so there will be a record of this when it does go. I don't doubt the camshaft will work for a while with a skillful repair, but I would not trust it for very long at all and i'd keep a towbar and fire...
