I bet you have some glow plug issues if you struggled to start at 34. I would test them. Also remember you what you may be hearing is the cold advance. When it’s engaged the motor sounds much different until up to temp.

Short term fix to help drain the tank. Take an air gun and blow back into the tank from where you cut into the line to add the fuel pump to dislodge the pieces that are hindering the flow.

This is off the cuff so take it for what it’s worth but your starter solenoid may be heating up and no engaging your starter. When cool it is ok but once got it may not activate.
I would try to manually jump the starter solenoid to rule out that problem.

Have you checked the filter sock on the pickup in the tank? They have a history of degrading and coming apart and clogging the fuel pick up. That sounds like what your problem is.
There is no pump in the tank. I bet when you drop the tank you will find pieces of cheese cloth looking stuff at...
They aren’t actually welded in yet. They are just sitting up there to see if the star looks cool or not. As unlucky as I am I can’t afford to have sharp stuff close by!

My roof rack project is Slowly coming along. I should have this one buttoned up by the weekend. I still need to figure out a mount for my pioneer kit as well as my power lift jack. I’m also putting a little lockable storage up there.

I am not sure what that is. My MEP-003 sat for 4 years with a 3/4 full tank on a yard and there was a little crud / sediment in the bottom of the tank but nothing that was close to that mess.
I would pull the tank and see how much of that you could get out.

I am having a buddy cut out plates to mount on the front A pillar, the B pillar and a cross bar going to each fender with a backing plate. They will all go in with riv-nuts and bolts.
I doubt the body flex is going to be much of an issue with 6 mounting points. There is very little flex at the...
Well this party started today. Been looking for a place to store some tools and a few lockable boxes.
Also may do a rooftop awning for the little one to have some shade.

This is my opinion and your mileage may vary. If it were me I would dump the old fuel change the filters and fill it up with new fuel and stabilizer. While you’re at it go ahead and service the engine as well.

I am not sure without the actual nsn number but I think that is the “repair” kit not the actual full install kit.
I think you can make it work but you are going to have to figure it out as you go.

Before someone gets to you first, have you downloaded the TM’s? The answers you are looking for are in it.
Are the wire numbers still visible on the wire sheath?

And they lasted about a week before they Turned into a big floppy mess. The vibrations were so bad they were useless. They looked a little better but the design was horrible. That’s why they replace them.

What Preventative maintenance have you done to the truck? Any service to any of the filters since you have had it or fluids?
Have you tested the glow plugs to make sure they are functioning?
What is the temperature where you are? Has that changed very much lately?
