Lift the truck and add 35"-37" tires and the engine will scream no more at highway speeds;{).
Look for a rear bumper and brackets from a Suburban or Blazer K5, actually same goes for the front... 1981-1991 but there are a few early years (81-82 I think) they added the turn signals in the front...
If you are talking about his Zebra Striped Bronco...It too was built by Stroppe...

The CUCVIIs (2 dr Tahoes) the USAF purchased are 350FI Gas motors... Same engine in my 98 Yukon that has never needed anything except a water pump in it's 130K miles.
Hopefully we don't have to many EMP worries in the states...if we do driving will be the least of our worries since computers...
Shackle flip is in the rear, helps with articulation and suspension twist, but blocks will not change the ride. You could notice some axle wrap in extreme conditons if you had more HP but I don't think you are going to notice it with the 6.2.
Got everything ready to give it a test fire today...hooked the engine plug to CUCV harness and got dash lights and buzzer but not iginition.
I pulled it loose and went and grabbed the donor harness, a tilt column I got at a pick n pull, layed it across the brush guard and drivers tire, ran a...
johnsr - I just pulled a 48K mile 6.2 out of my CUCV that shows one bad piston. I have not pulled the pan off to actually access the rod cap bolts and remove it to ensure it does not have a bent rod, but the engine was suppost to be a running engine that was rattling and swapped with my original...

oil pressure is in the correct spot
water temp will now be where gen...
Someone on another forum told me there would be some re-pin issues on the cluster plug. Is this true or is it plug and play with exception to the senders.
My replacement 6.2 has the senders in the block and was planning to use the same gauge cluster from that truck.
G Man - I'm in the middle of swapping 6.2s between truck and plan a stock gauge cluster from another 87 GM Diesel truck.
We just got the beginnings of the winter cold and snow and I'm doing this outside in Illinois so waiting for a day off with sunny day to get back on it but will report with...
There's a guy by the name of Stitch on the 67-72 gm truck forum making new glue on covers that eliminated the cracking that will eventually happen again. They look 100% better than originals.

Swapped 6.2s with a J code Civy Crew Cab, any reason I can't fire this up with the civilian engine harness connected to the CUCV firewall dash harness and now 12v starting system?
I would like to get this running and know its right before the adventure in swapping the dash harnesses to gain...
Any reason I can't fire this up with the civilian engine harness connected to the CUCV dash harness?
I would like to get this running and know its right before the adventure in swapping the dash harness.
I pulled the 87 Crew Cab harness yesterday and all went well except the fight with the...
