I don't see an exhaust stack so I would bet it is a gasser.I think it is a compressor truck, my friend has one minus the compressor:-(, better pics and a look at the data plates would help for ID.

The spacing appears to be the same. I think they drilled out the old holes on the green winch and put in some sort of insert, maybe the holes were boogered up.Every other winch I have seen has the same size bolt holes as my old winch.(the bigger ones)
Let me know what they have left in their truck inventory, deuces, 813's 818's and such.Ask them if they are ever gonna sell any 816's or are they gonna keep giving them to the forest service to cut up:sad:
I now own two m35a2 winches, in searching for a replacement top plate for one I now notice the bolt holes on the top for the plate are different sizes between the two.What's up with that, different manufacturer's or different time periods.The bolts in the black one are 15/16 and the green one...
Anyone know a source for a top plate for an M35a2 winch? Been searching hard and drawing a blank so far.Would it be the same as the one on a 5 ton winch?
I think the brake band is rusted up on it, other than that it looks pretty good.No luck involved in gettin this one Yankee! It took me two years to talk them in to it, they usually let me have any excess parts that they have but I had to work for this one:mrgreen:
