Cargo Cover Support

What I do for canvas support is just run straps front to back under the canvas, maybe 2 or 3 depending how much snowfall we get, that tends to work very well. As long as the canvas can't sink too much in any one place you're OK. Not sure if anything but plywood would suuport that much weight

1st project writreup on new forum- remote air tank drain

sick and tired of crouching down under your deuce to drain each tank individually? Sick of muddy shoulders and strained backs? Me too, but I wasn't keen on the remote drains I've seen, mainly because of cost. Hey, I'm REALLY cheap! so I made my own: I first took out each petcock...

any tips before I tear into my t-case?

well, haven't gotten to it yet. Been way too cold and wet, this weekend it's supposed to be dry and I will tackle it. I don't have any prior engagements so I'm getting my insulated coveralls and going for it :burger:

here we go again with the snow

that's a great tip. I had seen something similar in the field recovery manual, but never really gave it a second thought. I could get a good 100 foot of cable with a hook on one end and shackle/tree saver on the other. Would have came in very handy in the wooded area. Speaking of, you can...

here we go again with the snow

that's the truth! the other day ago: I wanted some better pics, so I went out in the blizzard into a wooded area and proceeded to drive into a hidden ditch and gte stuck: <img src="http://www.buschandbusch.com/snow5.jpg"...

    gettin the pinion parking brake!

the stock brake is, well, OK on flat surface. That's about it. You can't tell if it's on while you're driving, until you smell it, and the drum on the driveshaft picks up a lot of rust and grime from the road, making it even worse. Mine needs adjustment, but I have to hold it in the all the...

here we go again with the snow

thanks guys, I got another great one, stood further away and zoomed in but the flying snow blurred it a little nice though. It's still blizzard out now, maybe I can get some more, I'll post a much bigger version if you want it as a desktop as far as being stuck, it's very unpredictable. What...

here we go again with the snow

it definitely is fun. My observations about the deuce in the snow (and this is only four wheel drive) is that it does OK. I mean, it'll get there, but it might take some back and forth if you get stuck, or even the shovel. That only happens when you try to show off, like drive through the...

    gettin the pinion parking brake!

hey guys, well, today my parking brake did show up, after a few weeks of trying to pin him down after reading spicergears story I was quite worried and decided I needed to go on the offensive to get it here, but it's in my hands, now the real test is making sure it bolts on and isn't missing...

    M35A2 fuel mileage

a word of warning- I may be mistaken but I don't believe you can get the 5 ton due to the fact you'll need a CDL to drive it and isn't there an 18 yo age limit at least? I could be wrong, just something to watch out for

here we go again with the snow

these pics are from last week, but we're getting an even worse storm as we speak. I was born and raised here and have never seen 1 storm that dumped as much in one day as this, let alone two weeks in a row. It's usually dry powder, not this wet snow we've seen <img...

    M35A2 fuel mileage

cool, in that case he should be fine I had never been exposed to any big trucks, and barely any manual trannies, or anything like the deuce before I had to hop up in the seat and drive it out on a busy highway for a 420 mile trip home ...

    M35A2 fuel mileage

having not matured much in the 10 years since I graduated high school, I can say with certainty a deuce might not be the best choice, though you do raise some valid points. Had I had the deuce as my first truck I probably would have quit driving! I had my '73 Chevy pickup, and that was too...
