the airhift has been bouncing around in my truck for a few days now, I'm ready to pop it in
looks pretty straightforward and I can access everything without unbolting the case
how much fluid will dump out of there when I take the front half off?
What's the best manual to use?
Just plain...
I had read that when the manuals were made, fluid specs were much different. So is there a definitve list of what oils, coolants, gear lubes, etc. are acceptable for use in these trucks? I don't want any of this energy star compliant crap they're pushing these days <img...
ahh!!! BRIGHT INDICATOR! well, the bulb is burned out, which explains why I didn't know my brights were on during the trip home, which I think is part of the reason I fried my light switch, running the brights for like 4 hours straight might have heated it up a bit <img...
I'm no electrical whiz, but one thought would be did you get the batteries in series, or parellel? If parellel, that might have had an adverse reaction on the solenoid, but I'm not sure
I'm getting just under 10 MPG and rarely go above 45. Rush hour freeway trips are no problem though, the minimum speed is 45 and nobody dares try to menace you in that thing!
sweet! I haven't been following all the forums lately, but did you build that? It so happens I have a donor Chevy truck (well, once I pull the engine and axles out of mine ) and have a buggy planned, albeit not to THAT extent of...
cool I'll have to remember to upload the pic of my deuce and truck covered in 20" of snow, it's hilarious! We're STILL shoveling stuff from Friday
so I read all the suggestions in making the instruments easier to see at night and have some observations/questions.
One is, make certain your gauge faces are clean, that was causing some major distortion at night and helped at least 25% in visibility
Second, try screwing your little bulb...
Well, I got my axle in and had to go blazing through the snow. Without that front driveshaft in though she's only marginal in the snow, she'll get through but it's uncertain how long it will take
this storm far surpasses the last, and...
Are the data plates still on the dash? That'll list your GVW, and mine is only at a conservative 23,800 (because they count the 5 ton on road capacity in the GVW added to the 13,800 empty weight). But, they don't count the towed allowance, at least not here and since it says and/or you're free...
man, amazing! we must've had 18" on the valley floor when I got up this morning, got some pics I'll post later. COuldn't quite get to that axle, so the deuce is still in the driveway in front of the "CUCV". That's still fun though

hey Joe, thanks, I'd definitely like to send some business your way. Personal message me on this forum with a quote for 2 tubes and flaps and shipping to 89502 thanks!
I'm looking for a few new tubes and flaps but am hitting many brick walls. Local places all have to order them with no expected delivery date, and/or won't touch the wheels at all. The surplus places I've contacted don't have any at the moment. Anybody got a lead on a couple tubes and flaps...
just checking in, it's been a while. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I did- I'm on vacation Well, actually it's been spent moving, but I've got to drive the deuce a lot lately and that's always fun. Catch you later,
I have my airshift in transit as we speak- it is my understanding from Dave at Eastern Surplus the only thing that needs to come off is the front case cover. He said if anything, the case may need to be unbolted and moved to access all bolts, but probably not. I should know soon enough what...
I had to go with Gulfway Insurance, I think they do nationwide so you should be able to get it www.racensur.com
I drove 420 miles with no plates, just a temp permit in the front window that was all but invisible. Got passed by many troopers with no problems <img...
