Besides the clutch and adjustments, if it is a 406/416 check the hydraulic slave cylinder and hose. The hose can swell and not allow the pressure build up in the cylinder. Also check the slave cylinder and make sure it operates correctly. I have not turned wrenches on the 404 so others might...

HI Chuck, apparently there are two companies busy here in MI; mine and the overhead door guys! Yes, 2 long months to get the doors...arrg! But now everything but the mog is indoors (poor thing just got +6" snow dumped on her). Hopefully the one hmmwv will sell soon which will free up space...
