Absolutely gorgeous! Very similar to what I'm thinking for my truck. Are those IROK ND tires?

    2014 Fall Haspin Rally

Right now I'm back on track to be able to join you Saturday. We (my son and I) may camp out that night. Question: If I can convince my wife to follow me down and bring our daughter (my son will be riding along with me) what are the chances they might get a ride in one of the big trucks...

    Possible water temp probe location?

You live in Kokomo? I'm about 20-30 miles south of you. I got my gauge in and working yesterday. I checked the probe depth and removed it again after cranking over the motor and did not see any contact issues. However, after driving for 20 minutes or so, the temp on the gauge never got over...

Good idea, I have some lying around somewhere if it's not dried up. I was able to bend the line over about an inch. I'm still going to put the fuel line over it for extra piece of mind.

Shorted post on Alt 2 on bracket-melted two wires-need advice

Got very lucky at my Carquest in town, they had some 12g fusible link. Almost missed it, it's definitely been on the shelf a while! Long story short, got everything back together and no one had a new rubber elbow for the back side of the alternator. As I was reassembling (batteries unhooked...

    2014 Fall Haspin Rally

Thanks, I have a thread going in the CUCV forum. I've got it figured out, but the chain stores did not have the parts I needed, heading to Napa tomorrow. Continued my installation of the temp gauge and a 12v outlet for charging phones, etc. Hopefully, I get the new links in and there is no...

Thanks Warthog, was planning to stay with the OE setup. Unfortunately the parts houses that are open today did not have what I need so I'll head to Napa tomorrow or Tuesday. Oh and you're a funny guy! If I had unhooked my alternator look at the knowledge I would have never gained today...

Perfect thanks. I also spoke to my dad finally on the phone who was a GM mech for 25+ yrs and he cleared it up for me. Then rubbed in the "unhook the battery" thing again:deadhorse::o Headed to the parts store now. Napa is closed on Sunday's so I'm going to try Advanced or O'Reillys.

Shorted post on Alt 2 on bracket-melted two wires-need advice

Based on Warthog's thread on fusible links and looking at the diagrams vs my truck it looks like these two (at a minimum are fried). Diagram E-1 - 3 BLU-2B 12v - ENG WRG Harness Block - 12v feed from batteries- 12ga - supplies 12v to entire system Diagram E-9 - 3 BLU-2H 12v - ENG WRG...
