No, cleaned it up and made the repairs the day before :hammer:
The red line is wire loom. It houses the wire for my temp sensor in the water pump and other wires along the way. Red is all I had on hand at the time.
My pins and bushings are good too. For some reason my door top was slightly bent out. I did notice that my door was not original to the truck. It has a sticker with a manufactured date of 85 and my truck is an 87 so I believe it was replaced at some time.
I have the same issue with my m1008. Upon close inspection of both doors (passenger side does not leak) I noticed that the top of my drivers door had a larger gap at the top. It shuts fine and all the other gaps look good. A buddy of mine who is an old mechanic said it was common problems...
We went to a local car show this weekend that is a fundraiser for a children's charity. It's a wonderful place and a great show (asummerplace.org). I drove the car up and convinced my wife to drive the truck, it's only about 20 miles. Fixed my PS bolt that was backing out, some new belts, a...
Very cool. $30 download on Amazon is a bit steep. Looks like it's been out for about a year. http://www.amazon.com/IMGN-PRO-SPINTIRES-Online-Game-Code/dp/B00K4S9C9I Looks like it may be dead in the water. The original Russian developer and the UK firm that purchased the game seem to have...
My new tools showed up today (less than 24hr shipping!) I have to say I've always been a fan of Lisle tools, but this kit is the cat's meow! Made pulling that pulley super simple and should be just as simple to put back on. Waiting on new belts and hoses to show up tomorrow from Rock Auto...
I was under mine the other night because I heard a noise that shouldn't be there. Sure enough, one of the bolts behind the PS pump pulley is backing out and making contact with the pulley. Taking it apart tonight or tomorrow and will definitely be putting some blue loctite on them.
Great thread, truck looks amazing! I've been reading threads all day about exterior bed linings. I see you also have the NV4500 swap that I'm currently acquiring parts for :D . Do you still have the truck and what is your opinion now after some time has passed? My truck is in mint condition...
Dave, did you purchase this summit kit? I've looked at the pictures on their website and I'm not sure I understand how I would mount them in conjunction with the brake pedal that is already there.
yep, the squeaking is a dead give-away of ujoints. If they are non-greasable they are typically OE joints. If that's the case, take the shaft out of the truck and you'll have to heat those caps up real good to burn out the epoxy. Get them hot enough that you see the epoxy come squirting out...
Next time just take the adjuster plug out on the backing plate and take a flat blade screw driver and back the shoes off (can't remember which direction to turn it). If they're still stuck give the drum a tap.
(poor thing probably didn't want to go into Starbucks  )
