    Peter Bog's CAD deuce schematic!

PB, Sorry for the delay - just got back in town. The errors were just little stuff, you know, the kind of stuff that drives perfectionists craz(ier). LOL But since you asked ... 1) The '491 - park' circuit is labeled '191...' just under the 'Air Activated Stoplight Switch...' 2) The switch...

    Split Rims

RDM, Sounds like a plan to me. Do you prefer the hammer/wedge to a bead breaker hammer? I am collecting tire tools for the deuce and wondered which was easier to use.

    Master Switch

And you did/did not remove any wires from the accessory switch? It could be the accessory switch is simply miswired or burned out from an overload - although circuit 15, which supplies 28V to the light switch on pin B, shows to be directly connected to wires 10 and 11 near the accessory switch...

Yeah, they can put 'All Original Parts' on your tombstone!

    Parking Lights

The Dilemma - Do I want to keep it original or do I want to improve it. Studying the wiring diagram last nite, I came to the conclusion it had been designed by a committee! Were it an aircraft there would be a switch and a fuse/circuit breaker for each circuit, all fed from a common bus so...

    Tire advice?

DR, you got my attention! How about a PM? My daughter is in Houston and it's about time for a visit. I've been wanting to check out the MV museum too. Need to find a couple of wheels and just mount up new stuff.

    Tire advice?

Must have been coasting downhill with the engine off if you heard a tire blow!!! LOL So how did it fail? Did the tube pop internally or did a piece of the tire casing give way? Inquiring minds... My outboard Rear Left Rear (complicated, isn't it?) tube gave way in the driveway whilst I was...

    Parking Lights

I'm looking at the wiring diagram and it looks like putting the main switch in 'Service Drive' and the auxillary switch to 'Park' would turn on the front parking lamps while the headlights are on. Downside would be panel lights would be dim only. Hmmm... Gonna have to go outside and try this...

    Master Switch

Need more clues. Define power on/off - Can you hear the fuel pump run, does the low air buzzer buzz, starter work, etc? My guess is the acc Sw is being backfed by something in the lighting circuit all of which is fed from circuit 15 on connector 'F' of the light switch. I'd start by...

    Master Switch

Assuming we're talking the 'Accessory' master switch - yep, clockwise is 'ON'. It's got four connections, A,B,C,D which get circuits 11, 27, 11, 1 respectively (11 is the unfused battery feed and it goes to two posts. Be careful!) (27 feeds the low air buzzer, starter button, front wheel...

    Tire advice?

Heard that! After yesterday's posts I checked the fronts. They're not recaps but they are fifteen years old. I think DR's got it right - it's time to RETIRE! So I'll find a couple of extra wheels and mount new stuff and keep the old fronts for spare spares... Re"the DPS..." - wonder what the...

    Split Rims

They also make a less elaborate version that sort of looks like the bike rack down at the 'Y'. Just stand farther back...

    Tire advice?

Sounds like good advice. Guess I just needed to hear it from others to reinforce the gut feeling! Having wandered extensively in SE Utah I can see where there are plenty of places where there is no margin for error. But it is still sad to hear about. So I guess the word is inspect closely for...

    Tire advice?

All this discussion about wheels and tires has got me wondering about the quality of my tires. Looking at the "DOT" nomenclature, it appears these 9.00x20 NDCC tires were class A3 (bead-to-bead) retreads in 2/90. I'm currently replacing tubes and flaps after one blew sitting in the driveway...

    Deuce Engine Problems

Welcome aboard - Is this your first Post? Have you done all the usual, like air filter, fuel filters (3), checked operating Temp., Verified turbo spinning, Verified in-tank fuel pump runs, no brakes dragging (incl. parking brake), etc. How does the exhaust look? And there's a zillion more...

The A-frame kit (hoist) for M35-let's talk about it

I find it interesting that there is a section of the manual devoted to the care and use of this gin pole accessory and NOBODY has one or has seen one? Does anybody remember seeing one in use? Has anybody ever seen one on GL? Maybe the CIA has them all...
