The engine was designed to be a multi fuel with a single hole injector but some where along the line they must have felt that the two hole was better. You could run the single hole and not notice any difference in performance or mileage. As for a better burn with the two hole I would not know...
Might want to check the grease slinger that is bolted to the inside ofthe hub. There are slots that get plugged up and not allow the grease to sling out on the outside of the hub but instead get on the shoes.
I thought that also but all I could find in the TM's was about the calibration. One would think you would get better atomization with two holes and more fuel oil on the piston cup walls. Do what ever you think is right your truck.
Do believe it is more of a calibration thing per what pump you might have. I will stick with what comes out so if it has two holes I will replace with two holes as per TM.
You might look at fleabay and search ken tool T95A four way lug wrench. 74 bucks shipped and get a four foot cheater pipe. jbay search military heavy duty four way lug wrench. sent you a pm on it. even cheaper than 74 bucks.
That's what I use air line and a push lock Synflex fitting just about the same that was on there. Easy to hook up in a tight area. Also I don't use hose clamps with barb fittings as it can cut into the line.
Check the fuel control for the free movement. Motor not running should be a around 7o clock and with finger it should easy move to about 4 o clock then snap back to 7 when you let go. If you were driving and you took you foot off the fuel peddle and the fuel control assembly stuck in the idle...
The in tank can have power and sound like it is working but the only way to tell is it making pressure. So light no gage yes. The truck will run without the in tank making pressure but if there is a hole in the pump tank line yes it could let in air.
The governor is oiled bathed not fuel bathed...
The only problem I have with the 1" at my age is it's weight and I make my son do the tires when he is around. On the road a four way or torque multiplier is the way to go. Then there is the phone to the road service and we just sit and watch someone else work for a price. I will say my four way...
The new 2767 if you read right up about them they say if rusted or bad corrosion you might still need to get out the air powered bad boys. Looks nice but for 400 bucks I will fire up the compressor when at home or if just one tire in the field I will use my truck four way and the cheater bar.
