I know we have kicked this around a bit. If the two hole was for different fuels then to me that is what make the Deuce engine desirable.
Add gasoline to any other diesel engine and I would bet it would not last long.
What would be cool if someone was to check the pop pressure of the single hole...
Yea I have seen the signs that says all trucks and some say commercial trucks. I was pulled into the inspection house in Tx. because they thought my GMC3500 needed DOT numbers because they saw my fire extinguisher on my tool box in the bed. They told me not to stop at any scales again good by...
Scroll down click on do I need DOT numbers. I will say I did just go get a drivers log book and will use it just incase I have trouble. Yes I have a class A cdl and pull my M915A2 plus M373A2 with a GVW of 35k. I did Email the Florida dot about the scales and Ag station. Lots of people say don't...
From what I have been reading any single truck over 10,000 or combo over 26,000 could be commercial. That was not you. https://www.dot.state.pa.us/public/PubsForms/Publications/PUB%20194.pdf
Talking with Chris yesterday and he said there was no seat of the pants feeling when he changed to the two hole. Maybe just a little cleaner burn when on diesel fuel.
Guess the amazing thing about the design is that it is able to run low cetane number fuels or things like gasoline and not cause...
Are the piston's the same in your tractors or are they a type of mulitfuel engines?
I just can't see the four hole spray pattern working well with the pistons and intake we have. Would it run yes guess any amount of holes would run but not get the best burn / air ratio we need.
I cant get a good pic of the holes or measure without some gage pins. I would say yes the side hole looks a little bigger. I am sending the tips I just got back as it is clearly false advertising.
Looks like the two hole tips are the best way to go with the multi fuel piston no matter what fuel...
Ok got the injectors tips from ebay and they are not the NBM770138 that are used in the multi fuel. They are NBM770055 and have four holes. I to wondered how they would work as they look to be the correct size. Since the design of the piston and spray pattern with the multi fuel 0138 was for...
Yep just lay the heater over the motor leaving the lines attached is what I did. It is tight working and not much fun but it can be done. I have a set of steps that put my waist just at the right height to be able to bend over and put my chubby belly on the fender.
Also gives you the chance to change out the rubber IP oil feed line. I still believe the IP can be taken out without removing fenders or radiator. Yes you have to be able to touch your toes and have a bench to stand on and lay across the fender for awhile. Yes skinny boys with the right tools...
TM = Technical Manuals. There is some at the cover page of Steel Soldiers and some in the Deuce forum.
I like the Trouble shooting the LDS-465-1 multifuel engine. Then there is the Tm 9-2910-226-34 here on the board.
If you have two hole injectors myself I would just have those cleaned / checked. If you need new tips # NBM771038 then search the jbay auction sight and pick up just the new tips and pins and have them set for 3200psi. I just ordered 6 tips / pins myself just to have.
I don't know how good those numbers will be as the printing was 1968 but I do have my numbers for the newer AMBAC injector tip.
My two hole tip is marked Italy 12-91 and NBM770138.
Just for smitts and giggles I took my two hole AMBAC injector apart. Just have to watch the parts order and if you tip it upside down parts will fall out. First tip holder then tip. Then what I am calling the alinement disc and it goes in with the beveled edge facing the tip and locks in with...
Here is a pic with AMBAC numbers for my two hole injector. Would be interesting if the numbers match for the single hole you guys got just a tip change.
Per the TM looks like the only difference would be how they are adjusted. One with shims the other with pressure adjusting screw. Only see two...
This is the only sight that had the most info. Looks like there Synflex fuel line is made for real high pressures in the thousands of pounds where we have just 70 pounds. The truck came with nylon line and I would bet the newer Synflex air line is even a better than are old stuff. One would...
