Just as I hit the ‘Submit Reply’ button the dog started raising cane and it was the UPS guy with my package.
I’m still ticked off about them charging me for 3 day delivery and sending it by ground and then not replying to my complaints.
Arlyn
Yes, I did, on Tuesday.
Kenny,
Mapquest says that you are only 43 minutes (36.4 miles) from their address. How about if you drive down there and knock on their door for us?
Arlyn
I placed an order for a filter set on Tue, Sept. 8 and paid for 3 day shipping. I got a confirmation that they shipped it by ground and that it is due today, Sept. 17. I have emailed them to complain, but they don’t reply.
I paid the extra shipping so that I could have the truck to pull some...
If you don't get a replacement before you need to take it out, put the bad leg up front. Your tongue wheel will keep it from going that way. The back ones are EXTERMELY important (Read this as I've set mine on its butt twice!).

A couple of years ago I had an M105 without canvas or sides. I decided that I would spend up to $150 for it, so I kept watching GL.
While my son and I were at Ft. Carson picking up a tent I won, we went over to look at trucks that were coming up. There was a line of M105 and 4 of them were...
When you say “Stuck between gears” I think you are referring to the transmission being in gear and the tower being in neutral.
When AMC (AM General’s parent) was building Jeeps they put out a transmission with loose tolerances in the shift rods. Even new it was possible to pull the shift tower...
I LOVE THIS WEBSITE!
Thanks to an SS member, I am putting 2 new hoses on that trailer. Thanks to OD Iron screwing up the shipping on a filter set, the truck wasn't ready to tow it.
Arlyn
I can only answer part of your question, the part about the 2 parts on the top of the engine. They are for cold weather starting. The reason there is no power is because they are operated by a switch on the lower left part of your dash. The smaller one is a pump. My pump started leaking and...
Is there a way to repair a cut air hose such as putting a sleve inside and clamps on the outside?
I'm going to blame this one on GL and their fork lift. This trailer has quite a bit of damage on the frame and relay valve from a fork lift and on the bed where it was tied down by throwing a...
GLASSES!! That's it.
Found it right where you said. That is a good manual! I just might learn something about diesel engines, yet. There is a lot I have had questions about and this manual is going to answer a lot of them.
THANKS!
Arlyn
The truck probably needs all filters changed, so I ordered a set from OD Iron. Their prices looked reasonable.
JTugwell, Thanks for the xref numbers. I will call NAPA and price them, just to see how they compare. Maybe next time.
gringeltaube, I will download the TM and read that, thanks...
I have not. What is a quick source for them and how much should a full set cost? NAPA has been skinning me alive, such as asking $450 for an Olympic in-tank pump ($225 from Olympic).
This might explain why it seems to be progressive; When I drove it home from Ft. Riley it didn't seem to run...
I am having a problem that appears to be a problem with the governor. I have poured through TM 9-2310-361-10 and TM 9-2910-226-34 and don’t find anything that seems to explain it or tell me what to do.
The engine does not want to go above 2000 RPM, even going downhill. From 1500 to 1800 RPM it...
DaveP, Maverick1701,
You guys will never know how much you have helped; suffice it to say you have helped bring a lot of the past into perspective. For years I avoided The Moving Wall but finally my family prevailed upon me and I went to see it. A year later we went to Washington, DC to see...
Welcome to the 109 club.
I agree whole heartedly with Kenny (Recovery4x4) about tires and with gimpyrob about the brakes. I can tell you first hand that loosing brakes in a 109 in traffic will give someone religion.
One thing about the original tires is they are TERRIBLE on very slick...
Sloryd,
I see that you are new to SS; welcome.
I just went through the whole thing with fuel pumps:

This isn’t as much a suggestion as a statement of “Thanks”, thanks for keeping SS non-political and giving religious issues an appropriate focus. I will most likely be withdrawing from our state chapter of Military Vehicle Collectors because that did not happen there.
For several years I...
