I am planning the conversion to 11.00 X 20s on my shop van and picked up a surplus tire cage for use. It is large, heavy and on wheels. It is also available for use by any member who wants to borrow it or come over to the shop and use. It fits in the bed of a 105 but requires a forklift to...
Good article about the damage an A10 took over Baghdad and got the pilot home. Published by the Air Force with photos. Saw these planes a lot in Germany in the late 80s. They had to put the fear of God into anyone even thinking about having to go against them. As a TOW gunner one of our...
Vinny,
Will try to get there early Saturday but probably not in time for breakfast. The good news is that as of about thirty minutes ago I have my field range up and running on Propane. This means that we can now heat ten or fifteen gallons of water at once. It also has a mongo sized roasting...
Pete,
I suspect that I will head up on Saturday morning. How early are you planning? Got to roll an eight year old and ten year old out of bed for the trip. I need a shackle pin for the front.
Stone,
That is a great looking vehicle, I like the green and black contrasts. I am not a huge fan of the batteries under the seat after the ones in my HMMWV overcharged and made life interesting. That said, your set up has me rethinking moving mine. I have some military issue OD green...
A pole mount toward the rear is a great location. These things will drive you crazy when they are running at night. Spent a lot of hours in convoys with these rotating or flashing in the wee hours of the morning. The strobes would cause a corresponding interference in our radios on some...
Congrats on the baby girl. Time to get her some camo blankets! The trailer is looking good, it makes me wish I could put a bed that size in the 109 and still have some room.
That is an outstanding looking trailer and looks like it belongs behind the H3. The look of the wood on the bows and racks is really nice. Did a quick Google search on the Defthane as I am looking at ways to do the floor of the M109 and saw this quote, "Used on the R.M.S. Queen Mary and U.S...
The tar down low is standard to the vehicles. It is thickest down at the bottom channel and if you pull the wood floors out you will even find it on the steel floor.
On some of the parts of mine that I blasted it took an aggressive media to get through the layers of CARC paint. Regular sand did not do much but Coal Slag seemed to work very well. Problem with it is that it is dang expensive.
Marco Bucket of Coal Slag — 50 Lbs., Model# 3060 | Blasting...
Did the same to my M109 and it makes quite a difference. I did not increase the height of the exhaust pipe and with the muffler behind the heat shield you can not tell that it is modified without looking very closely. Since my kids ride shotgun quite a bit I want to quiet it down as much as...
The 105 hub is the same pattern as the deuce. Makes sense as you would want to be able to use the deuce spare on in a pinch the tires off the trailer so that the vehicle can keep going. I wonder if that rubber coating you can put on tool handles would work on the lunette and quiet it down, not...
