    Summit Racing sells the heat barrier in tube form. They also have it in sheets that I put on the heat shield for extra protection. I have it on my M37 and I have never had heat related issues .

    Get some LED tail lights they will work with both 12 and 24 volts. Add a civilian harness and your good to go. The LED's are great and very visible.

    The axle's are usually date stamped near the center, it may be another clue to it year of manufacture

    Look for the vin plate on the frame. It on the front left side of the frame a few inches behind the front bumper. It will be inside or outside depending on the year. I'm guessing its a 46 or 47 2a. One of the jeep forums will have vin by years. Mine was just as bad when I started it.

    If I remember right the handle is held on with a roll pin. Ck with ABLinn or Midwest Military or Vermont Commercial Salvage for parts

    I'm sure a m342 owner would snap it up for that price just for spare parts. How many tool boxes are out there for just one example? Not to mention the pto, pump ect.
