It would be almost impossible to explain to a DOT Trooper on the side of the road that you are using a Tractor as a recreational vehicle with temp tags, get someone with a CDL to drive it home.
Not 100 percent sure but I don't think you want to run WMO of any kind in a M939 series truck. Those aren't Multi fuels, but straight diesel burning engines
Just to share, my NAPA dealer told me that on Wednesday, March 19th NAPA is having its big Filter sale, I believe all filters will be 50 percent off, I plan on stocking up on all filters I need for all vehicle. Just wanted to pass it along
Tinydragon2001, where did you get the hydraulic dump kit for you truck, I have a very nice M923a2 that haven't been able to sell so I am thinking about making a dump out of it
Class B for the Air Brakes is a must legally speaking. We are rooting for ya!
The class B is for the weight, You will need an Endoresment for the air brakes
I couldn't find and info on the CUCV II's, but weren't they just taken from the civilian side and put into military service with the tow shackles put on... Did they have the Detroit locker 4.56's in them?
I accidentally ran my M931a2 out of fuel and same thing, hard to start even when I thought I had it primed it. I started it with starting fluid and just kept it running using the either until it ran on its own. Probabily used half a can of either but it worked.
Its more than likely the master cylinder, Mine did the same thing, after I took off the master cylinder by taking off the two nuts that's secure it to the booster I noticed the cylinder was leaking from the back of it there it bolt up to the booster. I had a spare, put it on and it worked fine...
I picked up a M931a2 that had them installed too, the batteries were 3 years old, but two of them would not hold a charge low volts so they wont keep a charge on them. had to convert to a two battery system to keep from buying two more batteries, work fine now
I'm all for US getting theses nice vehicles but it blows my mind to think how the Government can justify selling off equipment like this with so little miles and use, as a tax payer it pisses me off.
Yes you will need to get a permit, But you will probably need a permit through each state you drive through. Here in texas you just need proof of insurance and go to the local tax office to purchase the permits....... It is so simple to answer a question, good luck
I have a M931a2 and I will haul a 40 foot gooseneck trailer with 20 round bales at 1,000 lbs apiece. It does it fine on straight road but slows down a lot on hills, but it does what I need it to. It will do 60 mph while loaded on flat roads
