I called the Phenix City chamber of commerce to see if there was any fairgrounds in the area. They said no, that the regional fair is held in the parking lot of the Columbus Civic Center. I noticed on the maps there is a park next to FT. Benning called Riverbend Park. Anyone local to Columbus...
I think Carnac has a good idea with Columbus since it has the Infantry and Armor branches. As far as local shows, the closest is the Dixie Division spring show in Mobile in early April. My personal opinion, given an option I would take a mega show in Columbus over the one in Mobile.

In the club I belong to, the Dixie Division, we have been discussing a regional event now for a couple of years now, but havn't come up with a location or time. Maybe some collaboration is in order. Huntsville has been mentioned in some conversations, since it would give good access to the...

A talk in frequency sounds like a good idea. My ARRL repeater guide lists two repeaters in Marietta, 146.775 and 145.490. I don't know which one is best, maybe someone local would know. I'll be coming through the Anniston area on I20 about 0800-0830 on Friday. I'll monitor 146.520.
Depends on several things. Looks like it's on the right of way, so whatever is the law in Arkansas on abandoned vehicles would determine ownership. Once that's settled it would be a matter of how much work and money you would be willing to put into it.
I'd call around to some of the regular parts suppliers lire Memphis, Eastern, etc and when I located a bumper, tell the guy,"here's a bumper and the phone number of the supplier, order it and have it sent to me".
I purchased this same switch at a local heavy truck parts store. Hooked it into the ground side battery cable. Works fine in both the M35a2 and M816.
