There's the Dixie Division annual fall rally at Tannehill State Historical park between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa 6-7 Nov. Plenty of room for camping. Some of us will show up on Thurs afternoon.
The BII list in back of the -10 for the M35 gives a NSN of 3940-00-111-6693 for the snatch block. The description reads: BLOCK, snatch, 1/2 inch diameter wire rope, single 6 in. sheave, w/ swivel hook, 5 ton safe working load. FSCM 19207 part number 11631700
Looks like 1st batallion 506th infantry regiment. Hq probably means headquarters company. 8T probably trailer #8. 506th inf belongs to the 101st Airborne division. If you Google 506 infantry, there are some good articles on its history. If it were mine, and knowing their recent history, I'd...
I've made adaptors before and it's pretty easy. Here's how I did it.
1. Obtain a military trailer pigtail like found on a 1.5 ton trailer
2. Cut off the end where it connected to the trailer, cut back the
outer insulation about three inches, and strip about half an inch off...
There's a small plug made of either cork or rubber which seals the keyway on the spindle. A lot of people who do this for the first time either overlook it or lose it and end up with a leak.
Found some notes I had made on the M911. The radial it uses is the 385/95R24. I made some measurements in the past, and I believe the 24 inch rims on the M123 have the same lug spacing and center hole diameter as a PLS rim. If PLS rims would work, I'd single my truck out.
I've been looking around for some time and the best I could come up with is the above mentioned radials, and 14.00x24 bias ply tires made for off road trucks and wheeled cranes. They, like the NDCC tires are load range L (20 ply rating). If I remember right the grader tires are 13 ply...
Thanks for all the replies. The idea of using this genset for my commo shelter is really a second thought. I saw a lot at a state of Alabama surplus property auction a few weeks ago and had the idea that on would be good as a jump starter or for other 24v items such as a 24v impact. Like a...
Guess I should have added "any particular brands or models to reccommend?". I've never used an inverter and the wrong say 2000 watt inverter would be an expensive mistake.
Need some advice on inverters. I have a 24v apu off of the M577 command post track. My plan is to use it on my S250 commo shelter, with an inverter and a voltage reducer mounted inside the shelter. This arrangement would give me 24v for the mil radios,12v for some ham radios and 120v for...
