I did mine this past week also, great pictures by the way.
I did one thing differently, I took all the injector lines off at the injectors, and did the line swap on the bench. It worked out great for me. :driver:

Mark, I just went to Lowe's and got a brass plug (1/2" I think) and plugged it. I actually removed the tank and took it with me to assure a correct fit.
I put a 151 unit into my deuce and it is great but... If I let the antifreeze drop a little it goes cold. Have to keep it up a little in the neck of the radiator.

Old thread back to life. I was driving near Sandstone, WV today and ran into Fast Eddie, a dumper painted in C & O railroad colors. I just had to stop and take a few pics.
The air assist is totally fail safe. If you cut one of the air lines it simply reverts back to manual and seals off the on-board air so it does not disable the brakes.
Don't know if the hydraulic system has built in safeties.
Just came in from replacing mine. Its symptom was started great, ran great but would not start if you tried to start it up to 2 hours after shutdown. :driver:
You are correct on the charge, I usually buy the 4071. There is a lot of disagreement on this issue, most correctly suggest you need to test for pH and too much is way worse than too little.
I was off post airing up the tires in the hot sun when I picked up mine. The fan came on while I was working on a front tire- scared the stuffing out of me! It is loud.
