    Panelview 550 Micrologix 1100 MEP-802Ae

That's a great idea. I'll bet it is powered by 24vdc internally. I'm going to do some serious research on this next week to see how plausible this would be without breaking the bank. The two parts I have are the lion share of the cost so that's a plus. Just have to determine what expansion cards...

    New Owner of a BMY 1988 M923A2

Very nice truck but the first picture shocked me. Is that a palm tree? Alaska? Really not what I expected to see. Snow on peaks with a palm tree. Lol. Sorry to high jack.

    Panelview 550 Micrologix 1100 MEP-802Ae

Can't use this plc. 120 vac. Would require 24vdc to 120vac inverter to power, too much complication. Will have to research more appropriate model. Going to also have to research what I/O you could or would have to replace, what to displayon graphical interface, panel layout, extra inputs and...

    Panelview 550 Micrologix 1100 MEP-802Ae

Was digging around in my junk looking for a 24vdc power supply and ran across some NOS PLC stuff. Need to see where my software and license is but might be time to make a custom MEP-802B. Any thoughts? It would require an additional expansion module for the analog gage inputs Could have remote...

    MEP-831 testing question

    240vac 120vac 1500watt L1=11.39a 240vac 120vac 1500watt L2=10.7a 240vac 240vac 3000watt L1&L2=10.6a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f4qyrCRxZQ Had to borrow speed control from inverter challenged rev 1 unit. Rev 2 unit had constant 24vdc to actuator. Plugged it it and was already tuned...

    MEP-831 testing question

I can fully attest to that. Have rev 2 unit. Troubleshooting speed controller on it right now. Will have precise data once I get it running on different wattage water heater elements. No voltage spiking device on this machine.

    MEP-831 testing question

Further investigation of this failure is ongoing. I'm no component level electronics guy but I believe that these were some form of snubber, resistor-capacitor, both the blown one were on L2 which happens to be the phase that I had compressor hooked to. I tried to verify loads on the inductive...

    MEP-831 testing question

After a intensive root cause analysis it has been determined to be caused by human error on part of dumb a__ operator. Me. I so wanted it to be cooling fan. Tested operational, could be D.C.-D.C. Converter on board but doubt it. Blew a couple of capacitors. If they had not melted adjacent board...

    MEP-831 testing question

The name plate on compressor says 15fla. Think it's 2.5 peak hp. I knew inrush would be much more. Figured I was right on threshold of generators output. Just wanted to really test out gen. Boy did I. Destructive testing in hindsight. I will check and see if inverter vents are plugged. In...

    MEP-831 testing question

After I posted, went to flea bay. There are two listed for $300 each. Guess I may go that route, I'll decide when I pick up next one. It may need parts don't know yet. This one stings. Thought I might get generators and fix /tune and sell to support my addiction. May be better to quit cold...

    MEP-831 testing question

Well had it all tuned where it was loading and unloading like a champ. Decided to see if it would start my little 2.5hp compressor, which it failed to do. After failed test went back to water heater elements and was still functioning nicely. Was in cool down when noticed smell. Opened top to...

    MEP-831 testing question

Well I went through TM steps. Speed was a little slow -5vac from recommended speed. Also adjusted stability and gain pots. DieselAddict was correct on diagnosis. To me the gain seems to slow the electronic governor movement deceleration. It appears if this actuation to to quick the magnet...

    MEP-802 and 803 Main generator tip. MOD/MOV

Now I am wondering about my MOV rating. What would be the maximum spike that the diode bridge could be exposed to?

    Ground Bonding

http://m.ecmweb.com/content/unraveling-confusion-over-generator-power-and-neutral-conductors I am hesitant to try and state this correctly for liability reasons. But above link is a good read and should clear this up.

    MEP-802 and 803 Main generator tip. MOD/MOV

The circular blue disc is a MOV that I added to prevent the voltage spikes that can take out the diode bridge in the voltage regulator. If you are looking for MOV, you're local RadioShack may have them in stock. Mine did. My 802 had Tier 2 in 2012 so fuse was there, but after reading this...

    MEP-831 testing question

I recently acquired this 831 and have been playing with load tests. I have noticed that this unit will take 3000 watt instantaneous load with no problem, but does not like to come off of full load to -0- Governer goes to hunting with motor surging back and forth trying to find its happy place...

Picked up two really nice tires today

That was unit that was setting right beside the MEP-002a that went for like $1300, surprised the heck out of me how much it went for. I got couple parts units at same sale, but I didn't get any nice tires because someone cut axles out by cutting shackle hangers with torch.

Load test 831 Very good day. Filled both units with fluids(both completely drained). Both units fired off and ran first try. Video is of MEP-831 picking up 3000 watt load all at once, then stepping back down to -0- then dumping 3000 watt load back on. Picks up nicely. Quite a capable unit...
