I like putting the gage between the secondary and final filter canisters. That way I can see the in tank pressure when engine off and when started the idle around 30 and high idle pressure 60. Thought the injectors popped at 3500psi so the head would have to make at least that.
Opened up one of mine and like you said the retainer spring is on second side pic. So believe as you said the second pic is GO or wet side. Would make sense for the install tool if one was used. That would also make me think the 5 ton is different and the seal is replaced without removing the...
Your seal looks like it is hub to spindle seal. The other is axle shaft to axle housing retainer.
On the Deuce the retainer had to be removed to get to the seal. Could the retainer have been flipped by the last guy? I forget about the 5ton how the retainer is placed in with seal out or inside...
If I remember Ray aka tow 4 did his oil floating and they were around 120*. I had just done one of mine trucks with grease and the rear rear was running around 120* F checked by lazer.
Don't think anyone is attacking your name. I will say on the picture you posted on my M920 and M915 where it says fuel pump switch maybe it should say PT throttle linkage micro switch for the older stuff we are working on. Though the PT is a fuel pump it might not be clear to someone that does...
Yep then no need to carry any gear oil. As I said he needed to service all bearings and slave cylinders then he is one step ahead axles out when it gets home. I always carried all fluids and to many tools and found it faster to check fluid levels. Think I made Aaron do it. Then I got smart and...
Myself 10 years. Pay to have it moved by lowboy or step deck so you can take you time and service it correctly. You could flat tow it but you must check all axles and transfer case has oil. Getting in a hurry to drive it home will only cost you more in the long run.
Once home then the true...
I would not make a good teacher. The way information is shared should be free to all without attitude or taking it personal. I much rather be a dumb azz about somethings and have the respect of all men then be a no it all and no respect.
Rustystud aka Greg Will has gained a lot of respect here...
If you find your missing linkage parts let me know I have 6 m817 parts trucks. Parts are free just pay shipping.
You did grab the lever and all the linkage that is behind to the left of the drivers seat?
The only thing I can add on this is carry a remote starter switch in the truck. If the PCB box or anything other than the starter fails screw in the finger set screw by the electric solenoid and hook up your remote starter switch to get her home. Most mechanical injection deisels if you can...
