yup, me too :) I did a search on "split rim safety" and it made me reconsider the deuce!
What's so great about split rims? They must have used them for some reason
Can the split rims be modified to be standard rims, ditch the ring part?
can the standard non directional tube tires run...
just seeing if anyone is along Highway 95 between Fruitland, ID and Winnemucca, NV and 80 between Winnemucca and Reno? it's a longshot, but just IN CASE anything happens.......
Nah, I better not jinx myself
no kidding? call me a tire dimwit, but doesn't that defeat part of the purpose of radials, is that they're tubeless? Doesn't the tube increase wear? Do they make tubes that conform to the more square profile of radials?
just trying to gather up everything I might need for my trip back- is there a substitute for the 13/16" budd socket? I can't seem to find one very easily in town.
Will a crescent do the trick in a pinch?
yes I am- thanks for the tip!
I was thinking, would it be better to remove the outside tires, then the inners, then put the outsides back on? is that possible? It would keep the same stance. Again, I'm worried about wheel bearing load but since there's no extra weight the four bearings...
yup, sorry- the bolts holding the front flange on, the 8 1/2" bolts. My new flange is 1/4" so I'll need shorter than stock but I don't know the stock length, thanks!
cool, I may go the quick connect under the dash approach cause I'm more familiar with that. What would I need to hook up the glad hand to the truck? You say it's already on there, would I just need the hose with the glad hand adapter, and it plugs right in? thanks <img...
rather than single rear wheel my truck the right way before I bring it home (lots of added labor and parts costs I'm more inclined to put off, plus time involved), is it possible, now don't laugh, to just remove the rear outside wheels? Will the truck still run, like there won't be a bunch of...
I'm just bumping this up in case anybody missed it :) I pick my deuce up Oct. 29th and hope to pop the flanges right on. If anybody knows the length, great. Otherwise, I'll go 1/2" coarse, 3/4 or 1" long to be safe.
yes yes yes! AR-TI-CLE AR-TI-CLE AR-TI-CLE
sweet, man, I'm drooling over here. Great job, if it's no trouble could you snap some bigger pics and e-mail me ? I'd love to see some details of the longer tubes you made, the front lift and what mods exactly were necessary to fit the tires, and...
I was looking at a cross reference chart, and it appears that if the model is a turbo M35A2, than it has to be the LDT-465. Is this correct? there's no danger that the truck I'm looking at could have the 427 motor, right? thanks!
you know, I've noticed that myself. A lot of stuff I search for returns SS forum posts. Good thing. Well, it's bad for me since all the stuff I search for returns my posts on the forum! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif"...
....#186 from Alex, instead I'm getting #380 listed on their site now! www.idahomotorpool.com check it out. Good news is I pick it up in two weeks, can't wait! This one has less options but it fits my budget much better, and sounds like a strong runner. Will keep you posted of course...
