The M35 Duece cab and M39 Series 5 ton use the same cab !! as well as the M809 series 5 Ton use the same cab !! The M939 has a totally different cab !! so it should work for you !! As you thought there might be a slight difference in the pedal arragement under the cab but still should...

I was in a M880 Ambulance and was being driven from Camp Blanding to a check up at JAX NAS and the rear driveshaft fell out so the driver took the driveshaft out and drove to and from JAX NAS back to Camp Blanding with the front drive only !!
You might check and see but I think the A1's have anti-lock brake wher the first model did not have them. I know for sure that the A2's does have improved anti-lock brake system
OK the M811 / M944 are the rolling machine shop ( Batwing ) and the M820 is the Expansible Van !! I have seen loaded M811 sell on GL for $ 7500.00 loaded with tools in the past year !!

Most Commerical trucks have all the power go through the middle rear and power the back rear the you lock in your power divider and that will allow the front rear axle to have power !! Also it is called an interaxle and it does the same thing it allows the front drive axle to start pulling ...

Be Careful the Duece and 5 ton chains are the same but the Swedge is different on the 5 ton because, the 5 ton uses 5/8 cable and the Duece has 1/2 inch cable !!
The only thing I would watch out for is using Ethanol base gas in your older vehicles because the Ethanol will dry out the rubber parts in the carbs and fuel pump and fuel system and that will lead to problems !!
Octane is used to help the fuel burn more efficiently !! For the older vehicles the lead subtitute would be best because the newer fuels do not have the lead for lubrication and newer engine have hardened valve seats !! As was said by ODdave above !!!
