Glad to hear it went well. I suspect we might have been bidding on the same trailer, but I found another one in a private sale from another forum member. You're just up the road a few miles from me, too - so give a shout if you need help.
That's true for cars, Jim - but an M35 requires a title regardless of age. There are two triggers that void the no-title law - three axels, and weight.
Now, that means you need to title it in this state - but do you need a title to start the process when you bring it into NH? I don't know the...
True enough on the SF-97 - but the subject of the post doesn't make sense to me, now that I've read it again. You state that you want to know the value of the deuce without a title in the subject, yet in the post you say you are going to title it - just not register it. Are you asking so you can...
All you need should is a title - no need to register it youself. If you've got a clear title, you can assign the vehicle to someone else when you sell it and they can register it.
I can tell you the two and four outlet injector pumps for the MEP-002A and MEP-003A are identical.
Don't know what your issue is - perhaps something in the delivery valve area blocked, or perhaps the metering assembly is binding and not going open far enough to support the generator under...
For that price I'm also tempted to purchase one - even though I have no intention of turning up the fuel on my truck. Just would be nice to know what the EGT is (part of being an engineer is always wanting more instrumentation, I guess).
Likely the easy and cheap thing would be a 12V to 110V ~200W inverter; cost $20, carry another battery inside the deuce just to run the inverter (or connect it to your grounded deuce battery, because the case of the inverter is normally NEG ground), and use normal inexpensive 110V Christmas lights.
I've purchased parts from Erik's, O.D., and Saturn. Never had any problems - O.D. can be a little slow to get things rolling sometimes, but that's been discussed before. No problems with the parts from any of these folks.
I've also got a set of seals to change out - and ordered bearings...
By the time you're done getting parts and spending your time building, will you have saved anything over the $1200 bolt-on air-assist kits? Sometimes it's just plain fun to build something new - and if that's the case then by all means do what you want - but if all you really want is to make the...
Thanks, guys. Yes - one of the first things I did when it didn't start was check the fuel shutoff solenoid. It is retracting normally, but the fuel control was not; this is where I discovered the binding in the fuel control. I've soaked it externally several times with penetrating oil, but that...
The good news is I went and picked up my MEP-003A at the end of last week - and thanks go to member Earth for being instrumental in its recovery. The unit appears reasonably clean, and develops good oil pressure while cranking. Inside the control cubicle it looks almost new.
The bad news is...
Given all the other service done on 1-3-08, I suspect the axel markings are not rebuilt - but rather oil serviced on that date. Would be really odd if the rebuilt the axels and changed the oil and air filters ;-)
Nice looking truck.
I have two deuces - and both of them don't have enough airflow on the drivers side to defrost "properly". Heat, yes - defrost, not so much.
I'm thinking I'll keep a scraper, towel, and some spray de-ice stuff in the cab just-in-case. And I ordered a radiator cover, too. I suspect it will help...
2A016 sounds right. I've got an MEP-017A, and it uses the 2A042 to drive the 5 KW generator head. Having two different data plates - or even more - is not uncommon. My MEP-017A has a 1-68 date on the control box data plate, a 3-91 data plate on the engine, and a 1-89 data plate on the generator...
Welcome to the forum. Gensets are useful and fun surplus repair projects.
Which MEP model number is this genset? I see a couple dataplates - and any numbers you've got from them might be helpful. Which parts for the carb do you need? Looks like you have a paper gasket that needs replacement...
It sounds right - because an insurance company that's not geared for older vehicles can't even figure out what something built in 1970 is really worth. It just doesn't fit their operational model.
Collector car insurance is what's going to cover everything - because they agree on a "stated...
