I got a letter from DLA earlier this week (Monday). I assumed this meant I had been approved. As of today (Friday) GL still says they have not received any approval. How long does it normally take once I get the DLA letter? Also, the letter never really says I've been "approved". It says...

Re: parts Little late for that. I knew there would be risks as far as the running condition of the truck, but stuff missing that was in the picture is a little different.

What's the official word on walk-away parts? I have read a few posts recently about stuff missing from guys' trucks when they go to pick them up. I am going to be supremely pissed if I show up and, say, my cargo cover is gone. Anybody had any problems with this? Do we have any recourse?

Okay, I'm stupid, I forgot you need the truck to get the trailer all the way home. Let me think this one over. I'm getting shipping quotes in the mean time and I might have found a decent quote.

Yeah, I'd love to have the dropsides, but you take what you can get with GL. As far as chains go, I've thought about that, too, and it really sounds like the most effective and affordable option for the few times you might need them. A lot easier and cheaper than buying 7 super singles...

Unfortunately, I'm on kind of a tight schedule with the pregnant wife and all. Also, this is my first truck of this size, so I don't know that I'd feel comfortable pulling a trailer that heavy right off the bat. I wish I could help you out, but I'm probably not the best guy for you in this case.
